1. A good publisher simply wouldn’t have done it. Ever.
2. No one likes admitting they’ve been suckered.

Tons of rumors circulated that Respawn was livid about how EA handled the publishing and was considering suing EA. Lying then or now. No one who works for EA now is going to tell you that they wound up being bought by EA because their current employer screwed them in a deal. Because that makes them look stupid and weak. Not to mention getting them fired. Also it makes no sense that Respawn would [i]demand [/i] to be released then when even people not even in game development thought it was crazy. When they could have had a spring launch all to themselves.
