Why go through all the effort of making a collection set up like we have now that has such little utility? The whole "Can't retrieve random roll" portion eliminates gear/weapons Y2+ from being any good in the collection aside from a completionist viewing.
They really went with a half measure system when it came to the collection set up with this in particular. Its not like their servers are holding so much data that putting a set of items on a rotating roll would break the bank, since they did it with all the vendors in D1 without fail every single week.
They could use all that data they're saving from keeping us off dedicated servers to at least make sure that some of these weapons have random rolls to acquire each week >.>

I believe they originally said in one of the interviews, that you could "save" your favorite random roll and get that particular one again, but you couldn't get new rolls from just buying it over and over. But i guess they scrapped it. More D1 BS of fantastical stuff that they lie about.

1 ResponderYoure asking for common sense. Bungie doesnt like that.

Retrieving random rolls is in the works apparently i think dmg replied to a post a while back

Another half baked idea from bungie. You don’t need every single version of a gun in your collection, but you should be able to nominate one, maybe two random rolls of on particular weapon to be added to your collection. This would help free up so much space in the vault.
-
Agreed. They could just make it possible to pull y2 gear from collection, at a high cost, and randomly rolling them with each pull. A reroll system.

2 RespostasLet's you buy back Y1 loot and cosmetics 🙄

More dumb ideas...

Most games of this type have re-roll systems. The only reason Bungie doesn’t is because they typically like to survey the gaming landscape, find what other games do a great job at, and then do something completely different which usually turns out to be broken and wrong. They are a strange group, no doubt.

Its so you can get rid of your entire yr1 inventory to free up vault space for random rolled gear. Also is a nice touch for people that like collecting everything to have a checklist even with hints on where to get stuff to complete it.

To farm mod components

You nailed it. It is for completionists to gaze upon fondly. I don’t know why you can’t just grab a piece and get a random roll. Maybe it should cost enhancement cores to make it so you have to seriously consider it. It would be just like reforging gear in D1. It didn’t break the game then. Why would it now? The downside is people would keep grabbing gear until they got the perfect roll and we would be back to listening to complaints about the lack of variety but who cares? It’s typical Bungie. It’s another case of poor implementation of a good idea. That’s why we can’t have nice things.

I’ve had the same thoughts about the collection too, my man. At the very least the weapons and armor in the collection could just have a set roll on them. The collection lets me buy shaders, and snag emblems, and what have you... so why not my armor and weapons?

Editado por Wintermute 2050: 11/29/2018 6:32:00 PMThere are a few ways to use items in the collection. Old weapons have new perks, for example. One of the best uses for the collection is to rank up your characters. Instead of playing for endless hours trying to obtain higher value armor, all you have to do is equip your highest level weapons on a character and then buy one armor piece at a time and equip it. Keep doing this while playing activities, and you will rank up fast. My Warlock went from 390 to about 580 in 2 days.
