Where there needs to be a more refined endgame grind.
Many players, including myself are feeling a little burned out by the constant dialing it too far in one direction or another, only to have to keep coming back to retune it yet again kind of situation. Thus, asking us all to bear with you as you work through the kinks, yet again.
C’mon already. Enough is enough. Have you seriously learned nothing from the past four years?
D1 at launch had many errors, and that’s expected, but the Taken King overhauled the entire progression experience and subsequently only continued to improve upon that. Stick to that.
Annnnnnd then we got D2. The abomination of a sequel, which took all the great progress they’d made for three years and threw it out the window.
Ever since, it’s been straight damage control, and reverting back to the vastly superior gameplay mechanics and player investment systems.
(All the while without a single, “you’re right, we effed up, our bad” kind of moment.)
Certain oversights really shouldn’t be happening this late in the life span of a franchise that has long since worn out the “we’re still figuring it out” kind of excuses. (Masterwork cores, I’m looking at you.)
We understand this kind of a game is an ever changing environment, and it can be honed and tightened up a fair bit even still, this many years later. But you already had the right formula. Just follow it. Wtf.
So how is it that you’re gonna allow a huge new expansion to release, on the heels of the worst pr this franchise has ever seen, in hopes to win back your audience and not have the foresight to anticipate how the endgame grind would feel?
Raids just aren’t as enticing.
Gambit is a novelty, fun at first, now just feels awful.
Crucible is in a decent place, but sniping has been all but eviscerated.
Bounties that expire just feel like chores.
The art and overall aesthetic still remain to be the one redeeming factor.
Sense of exploration and lore is a positive.
Collections is great, but need to include new gear, even if a static roll is applied, like exotics.
Xur is a waste of space. Needs an overhaul.
The dungeon idea is actually awesome. More of that please.
Time gated quests, (like every three weeks, etc) suck
Exotic drop rates are a joke.
The challenges for powerful gear are a positive.
These are just some thoughts I’ve shared with many who share the same sentiment.
So ask yourself if this feels right to you, and feel free to post your opinions down below. All I know is I couldn’t wait to get onto D1 everyday after work, and now, it’s just more of a “meh” feeling.
Is the magic gone? Have Bungie squandered away all what’s left of their good will from the Halo series? What’s happened?
It’s still fun, and is a vast improvement upon where we were just a few months ago but... This...just doesn’t feel like it should, or still could.
Thoughts?

8 RespostasThis is as good as it gets Destiny will never live up to its potential

20 RespostasBungie does not care what anyone thinks. They are a business that has to make money. So what they do is make a half ass game because it's fast and cheap, then sell you $20-$40 dlc to try to patch up the crap they delivered in the first place. This is how this company operates. Right now Bungie is riding the coat tails of Halo that gave Bungie its name in the gaming world and are obviously taking advantage of that, or this developer is really that bad a making video games. What ever it is, Destiny will never live up to the expectations this company (or the fans) has because it was either a lie in the first place or there just not enough talented game designers that remain at the company.

1 ResponderYeah that's pretty much it man. They still keep pushing their ridiculous meta rotation refusing to actually balance weapon classes. They cut out an absolute ton of content from Destiny 1 that should have carried over. The irony is if it's all about money can you imagine how much more money they would make if they would have built Destiny 2 on top of Destiny 1 and not thrown everything out Seriously if they just passed a rule at work that if you work at Bungie you have to play at least 15 hours a week of destiny that by itself would do wonders. I don't think the designers are really in tune with the community and never have been they just ask streamers and random people but they don't really get it

I can totally sympathize. I’ll tell you what I find annoying, the amount of time wasted in the dreaming city with only one fast travel. Don’t give me wrong the place is beautiful and all, but I can get more done in the tangled shore in a less amount of time. The mechanic of when you die you restart from the beginning is just a time waster if you’re not in a fire team.

6 RespostasThe main problem that a lot in my clan have come to the conclusion of is that D2 feels like its all or nothing... Put all of your time into and grind grind grind or don't play at all... Its not rewarding for players that can play a few times a week and its not fun to have to grind all the time for nothing... The Infusion system feels like a second job and the bounty's being timed mean you cannot play how you want for as long or little as you want... End game content is stale Nightfalls are just slightly harder strikes made super easy by OP weapons, Gambit is dreadful... full of glitches and exploiters and sweaty meta, PVP without SBMM is just not fun for anyone other than the sweaty's and lets not talk about shotguns... Raids the old ones not worth doing anymore where is the carrot? the new raid fun the first 3 times then easy and not really fun and has no reason to do it... Time gated content!!! This should still not be a thing! The Shattered throne Dungeon and Haunted forest best things about year 2 and more of this please! Blind well and EP NEED! Matchmaking for larger teams its just much more fun and you now have clan bounty's for these so we should be able to do these with a full clan team of 6/9. LOOT!!! There is hardly any loot in the game and when you look at it there is far more primary weapons then secondary or power! Random rolls are great but weapon variety is more important and they need to double the armour amount of each class and at least give all weapons and armour from year 1 the random rolls treatment. So in conclusion the game doesn't feel rewarding to play for long periods of time and feels that you cannot progress if you dont play for long periods of time!! End game modes for the most point all have problems... PVP modes are all unbalanced and matchmaking is dreadful...

A lot of people are quitting. All 7 buddies I had playing from work are bored and playing crap like black ops or starting red dead.

Sorry you first paragraph is where I stopped not because I disagree but because I get forsakens story line now
bungie is the dreaming city every week the curse gets worse and worse till it resets just like bungie they implement worse and worse ideas till the get something right and our hope is some what strengthened to give them another chance and causes death symbolizes those loyal players who ultimately said -blam!- it and left the game
No one cares
-
Bungie literally has no idea what they're doing now.
-
1 ResponderYeah we are reaching the death of the franchise 😂 rdr2 onward will put an end, anthem will be the killshot

Or you blow through content way to fast? People beat the raid 20 ll under. It was hell, until you ballsed up and did things were hard and were rewarded. Congratulations, you are 600 and you finished endgame.

10 RespostasEditado por TheShadow-cali: 10/26/2018 12:05:08 AMIMO I don't think grinding is really the issue. Even though I repeat myself it's the truth. There is no loot to chase in this game. Yeah, some gamers will say, well you have exotics, other weapons, and gear right? well, when the game has such a low loot poot what is there to grind for other than gear, weapons, and material? In fact, this game has way too much material, that you're spending more time grinding for material than anything else. Look at how they have overdone the vendors with bounties that are only for materials or just buying consumable from them? it's a ridiculous amount. Where is the loot to chase in this game knowing how the progression system is set up?
-
1 ResponderFor me getting to max light is usually the time I stop playing Destiny til the next expansion. Forsaken is really good, but I got to 600 far too quickly for my liking. I even stopped doing most of my bounties the last few weeks to slow down my progression. For me, I think Destiny lacks focus. It should either be PvE or PvP game, I think most users prefer one or the other. I do not think many enjoy them equally.

2 RespostasI think vanilla D1 was the best. Before the cry babies ruined it

Editado por Lucozade85: 10/26/2018 10:43:22 AMFor me the problem is the game is too small, too much grind and not rewarding. You could spend hours or even days on this game and be no further forward than you were before you started. Openworld really isn't that open. We get stupid bounties such as collect some planetary materials or do the same patrols we have been doing since D1, we shouldn't be doing this if we are at the end game stage. In my opinion there needs to be 1000s of weapons & armor with 100s of unique quests that vary in difficulty, some forced as solo and some that are open to fireteams. These quests shouldn't be the same things we have already done as part of the story mission and should guarantee the weapon/armor drop for that particular quest, the weapons and armor having fixed perks. The vault space should be opened up to have much more room to accommodate all of the extra gear. Also why stop at level 50? why not go to 500? or 1000? Finally, maps should be much larger, having much more things hidden in them (dungeons, lost sectors, chests etc) The game has so much potential, it is a shame to not see it used. I'm around 590 light on my main character, I don't know if I can be bothered doing the same things over and over to go to 600. EDIT: Also I won't be pre-ordering Destiny 3, I'll wait and see what the reviews are like, maybe check some gameplay first.

This game is for neckbeard elitists now, and Destiny 3 will be even more catered to elitists. They turned the game into -blam!-ing job, not a hobby.
-
2 RespostasGrind is part of destiny don't like it move on yes it does get boring and people may feel tired but at least you can still do few things in game soon we gonna have exotic quest for thunderlord who knows what's after that
-
You're about a year late on making a post like this.
-
A lot of grind with the only reward being light level, which only helps you by unlocking more things to grind for light. Most weapon rewards outside of raid are complete trash and a lot of raid drops aren't really tempting enough to get people into raids. Not to mention exotics are non existent. Which only makes things worse.

Editado por FataLVisioN_Oo: 10/26/2018 10:56:12 AMThere is way too much grind with not much to actually do... most of the activities are just white space to fill the void... like daily stories for example.... they could've cut that idea completely out and added in another dungeon or something of that nature.... honestly I thought lost sectors were going to be what the dungeons are...... they should rework them into that it would be sweet to have a ton of dungeons to go do.
-
Crucible is in a decent place, but sniping has been all but eviscerated.
Just to point out that this neither makes or breaks Crucible at all. Quite frankly I'm glad it's how it is because D1 is just a sniper rifle sweatfest with players seemingly never using primary weapons. The only real buff I want to see is to Scout Rifles which are completely phased out at this point.
-
Bungie f up when they made us level up from 380 to 500 in like 4 hours. That was a HUGE mistake !!! now all my characters are 598+ & i have nothing left to do other than chase malfeseance & one thousand voices. AND TBH RNG grind is the worst, raiding over 10 times & not getting 1k voices while the noob in your fireteam that you just carried gets it is so ANNOYING. Playing 50+ Gambit matches and not even seeing the Servitor once is crazy etc etc

1 Responder
We’re at a point in destiny’s life cycle...
Where it’s about to go down hill real fast.
-
1 Responder
We’re at a point in Destiny’s Life Cycle
... where Bungie needs to stop concerning themselves with HOW players play and HOW players progress in the game. They need to step back and realize WHY players played the game so much more in D1. Some people at Bungie keep getting struck by the "good idea fairy" and change things that did not need changing. Just STOP!

4 RespostasEditado por Grimey Dark: 10/25/2018 5:35:30 PMMy thoughts? Please speak for yourself. I like Destiny the way it is now. Wouldn't change a thing. But then again, I'm just what they call a 'casual' 🤷♂️
