Still remember my first PvP match in D1. Spawned in and got completed melted by an Eyasluna. Immediately upon finishing the match, I researched how to obtain it and was ecstatic to find out it would drop randomly in Crucible. That notion kept me in Crucible for months on end as a solo PvP player.. Consistently grinding and waiting for a "god roll" drop was all I wanted to do. And even when I was completely outgunned by the Eyasluna it didn't discourage me from playing due to its RNG drop. Well I finally got that god roll and it stayed as my primary weapon load out for the rest of D1. Anyone that played d1 Crucible knows how satisfying that handcannon was.
Fast forward to Season 4 D2.. The Luna's Howl is arguably the best handcannon on console, Not Forgotten being even more top tier. The argument that Ace can rival Luna is only viable if we are talking PC. Console bloom makes Ace decent at a ranged fight but not even note worthy at medium range (Lunas range). The Luna 180 archetype is simply unbeatable on ps4 and xbox. All other 180's can't even keep up. The only negative aspect of the gun is its locked away in the Competitive playlist.. And for what I'm betting more than 75% of the D2 community will never obtain due to the skill needed to win in Comp. For god's sake people are paying hundreds of dollars for Luna carries on ebay lol... This imo, leaves PvP in a weird state of elite players controlling the flow of PvP. Nerfs are NOT the answer. More viable ways to obtain PvP weapons possibly?
Redrix Broadsword being a great example of how to make a GOOD weapon accessible to all if they grind for it in Quickplay. If they put in the time, get melted along the way, they too can obtain a god tier PvP weapon. Will Luna have the same fate? Will it be renamed and re-branded for next season but accessible in Quickplay?
Idk, just my thoughts. Feel like PvP is going to really turn new players away this season. Or casuals like me lol
*Edit - Geez, all the sweat lords loved this one ;)

I was able to get lunas solo and I'd consider myself an average player. So it is possible to get just gotta ask yourself how worth it is it?
the answer is yes it's worth it.
2 RespostasWhy do people keep sleeping on west of sunfall? I have the luna's and while it's optimal ttk is better due to its perk, I find west to be more consistent, damn thing has receives no impact from flinch.

3 RespostasFirst time you ever started playing Destiny 1 was Eyasluna reign? Hardly a vet, gtfo.

I just need 100 headshots and then fabled. I was at 1300 glory, been knocked back down to 899 lol it’s rough

9 RespostasEditado por NegativeCycle: 10/4/2018 8:22:00 PMNo, they need to keep the prestigious PvP rewards out of reach of players that are not skilled enough to get them. This is the same shit as when in D1 scrubs couldn't get to the lighthouse, they all pissed and moaned about it too. There NEEDS to be something that separates the elite from the common or why would anyone bother to play competitive? The only people in there, like me are chasing after Luna's and Not Forgotten it keeps us coming back. Now before any morons start spouting off about "I paid for all the content, I'm entitled to get all of it" No, no you didn't. You payed for a "chance" to get all the content this game has to offer just like we all did. It's up to you if you want to practice the skill needed to attain all of it.

5 RespostasOut here using Trust/Ace and beating Luna users. Guns not that good.
-
I think Luna's should've been a quest like Broadsword while Not Forgotten would be a milestone reward for reaching Fabled in Competitive. I personally haven't begun the competitive grind yet but Legend rank for a gun seems a little rough. Should've just been ornaments or other cosmetic rewards.
-
Don’t know if they will, but if they do they can’t give it random rolls because then it could roll range like Not Forgotten.
-
How about Bringing Eyasluna Back as a Random Drop as good as its glory days? Nostalgia's a hell of a drug... And daddy needs his fix...
-
3 Respostasimo, if you don’t have the skills to get the gun, you never deserved it in the first place. If you make everything sooo easy in this game, then you may as well not play it at all and get everything handed to you on a silver platter. God forbid anyone works for something these days.

17 RespostasYou got it killing thumbless playstation children do it on PC, then you can actually act like your good everyone knows PS4 kids are useless at PvP move along

Editado por Sevenv2: 10/3/2018 10:07:30 AMYeah but how often do you run into someone with Luna's howl realistically? The game isn't just made for casual players be it pve or pvp. For the more intense pvp players coming across another player with Luna or Not Forgotten is a memorable and cool experience, you sorta lock eyes in the lobby beforehand it feels like. The gun is powerful as it should be, it's made for the best and the best earned it. Competitive is NOT easy for top tier players either on many occasions, so if I see somebody with Not Forgotten they've personally earned my respect. If absolutely everybody could obtain it, it just wouldn't be special and that's the last thing we need in a game like this. I feel I should also mention there are plenty of fantastic legendary hand cannons to grind with god rolls, trust is a good example not to mention that's way more reminiscent of grinding for a god eyasluna.

14 RespostasMeh, my malfeasance does just fine in competitive. Lunas howl will look good in my vault next to my claymore, but aside from that. Malfeasance is my jam right now.
-
I get the feeling that Luna will have a Redrix equivalent quest in the next season.
-
My first gripe is the whole "From a D1 player" call it a pet peeve of mine. Not only would it not really change your viewpoint, but if your first match had Eysluna in it, you came in around ROI. Second, Luna's isn't the super overpowered mega gun it sounds like it is. Granted, it's one hell of a good gun, but it isn't the best. I very rarely get killed by it, and when I do, it's always me being an idiot. If we want to talk strong guns, the raid pulse can 3 burst people very easily. IB pulse isn't half bad either.

They needed something for the Crucible only players to grind for. I have some mates that are doing just that. I survived without Claymore but I'm going for broadsword, why cause I can achieve that quest with my skillset in pvp which I would say is average. I agree that eventually they will make everything accessable to all. Just like the faction catalyst's. All it ever means is that some get it sooner than others. I take it back to Invective in D1, it was an exotic quest, my first exotic. The only way at the time to get it was to do the quest. But then Xur sold it like a year later.

4 RespostasOnce The Last Word comes back, no more will I care about grinding Luna’s Howl.
-
3 RespostasStop asking for other HC to compete with Luna's howl... Im sick of encountering same loadout after loudout... Mix it up... get an OP weapon of every class.. Forsaken finally made a change in the META.. and I can finally walk arround with different guns without getting punished hard for not play the 2 META guns... But all those fkin handguns in crucible atm... <puke>

14 RespostasIf I really wanted the Lunas Howl, I'd hire someone to grind it for me. Plenty of tryhards who are willing to sell their services to the highest bidder.

As much as I completely understand your point and agree with the most part, I believe that since there is a separate Competitive mode on crucible there has to be rewards. Some weapons are not meant for everyone. And I understand even if I never end up getting it. If I get outgunned by Luna's howl (which is not all the time. Knowing your opponent's loadout and playing to his weaknesses is the key. For example if my opponent has luna and I have ace of spades I simply do not go on luna range. Create distance and then punish him from ace range. There's a fine line between the two weapons' ranges. Or if it's a small map and I'm using something like a pulse then I equip shotgun or sidearms on my other slot. Sidearms are criminally underrated. Against a good translation theory, Luna doesn't stand a chance) then that is fine as well. The man invested more time and effort and earned that while he has 0 raid clears to my 6. And I have 5 raid weapons to his only luna. When casuals finish the game and move on to something else, it is these 'sweats' that come on day in day out and keep crucible alive. If you are casual then redrix is there, right? With time you'll get it easy. The thing is people have different interests. Not everything should be for everyone. If you're pve oriented then try and get better at pvp to get the weapon. If you're pvp oriented and has been sweating the balls off for luna, chances are he's low light for pve activities. Doesn't know how to do the raid. Gets destroyed in nightfalls and as a result, can't get all these nightfall specific weapons or the cool af rais weapons. The concept of exclusivity must exist imo. Have a lovely day!

1 ResponderThe problem with the crucible now is … well, the same damn problem that’s always the problem with the crucible. There is a small handfull of guns that are viable, the rest are decent at best if not outright trash, and the meta dick riding sweaties run around in their four stacks destroying everything in sight while you sit there thinking um why am i playing this? Aka its not fun.
-
3 RespostasWait, consoles still have bloom? Ahahahaha!
-
I feel like next season they're gonna offer the quest, so if you don't wanna grind for it now just wait for it like the broadsword.
-
Must have never experienced pre need thorn in year one. That would have changed your whole perspective on hand cannons.

5 RespostasPVP has already turned away players. Destiny’s radical decisions are all based from the crucible’s data. This is why Anthem is going to be great. No PVP=No Nerfs witch then = happy players with them = no problems. Destiny’s PVP could be great if bungie listened. Dedicated servers, it’s own 24/7 Live Team/Support etc. but instead it’s P2P and red bar gods who appear on your screen out of thin air with an Ikelos shotgun and there goes your fûcking 15 emotes.
