Problem is that people run these because they HAVE to for milestones. Because of this they don't give two figs if they survive the runs without dying (there's no penalty for it aside from a low kill count).
When the entire game is made in a way that forces you to do X, Y and then Z each week it's hard to blame the people who have just switched off and are just going through the motions.

"No, actually, its not." This is a game....not a job. If I don't feel like playing I don't play. If I don't enjoy playing a particular part of the game, then I don't play it. I don't selfishly queue up in it...and then set about ruining someone else's fun.
-
So someone is selfish because they run voidwalker on an arc modifier?
When the entire game is made in a way that forces you to do X, Y and then Z each week it's hard to blame the people who have just switched off and are just going through the motions.
No. They're being selfish when they do that. If playing the game is such an unenjoyable chore that you can't be bothered to even pay attention to what you're doing.....go do something else. There are many acceptable reasons why someone may not run the modifiers in a hero strike. They could not have the right weapons. They may not be the right level. They may be running quests or challenges that require them to do something else. I'm not the OP....I don't have a problem with people trying to get other work done. But just checking out because you're bored....or resentful? Shit...stop wasting my time and go do something else with yours.

Can you tell us how many friends you have?
-
More than you do, child. :) Its the result of actually being considerate of other people.
-
Condescending every post you don’t agree with is not the ideal way of being considerate. Just food for thought.
-
Sorry you feel that way. I'm not responsible for your feelings. Only my intentions. ..and when someone walks into a shared space and acts in a selfish manner, I'm going to call them out about it. That's setting a boundary. Which I have every right to do. I have no obligation to put up with someone else's selfish behavior without complaint. I'm not their mom...and I'm not their dad. ....and if you think THAT is "condescending"? Oh, my are you going to have a tough time in the adult world, Snowflake. The world is not a gentle teacher. Esepcially where it comes to lessons that you should have learned as a kid.
-
Yes I’ll have a tough time continuing to protect your freedom on my next, 4th, combat deployment. Good guess kid. Enjoy being a wannabe know it all slob on these forums.
-
You might want to speak to someone, soldier. I'm not what's eating at you. Stay safe.
-
I now feel slob was a poor choice of words as well. You articulate your posts well, I’m sure you didn’t take it to heart.
-
I like you a little better now. We still can’t be friends though because ever forum needs a villain. Marine btw, and thanks.
-
"I'll be your Huckleberry....." Go get 'em Devil Dog, and come home.
-
But I already have that catalyst. Could you please good sir be my wardcliff coil? :)
-
Can't give what I don't have...... :((
-
It's hard to blame them? Bologna. If they switched off and playing is such a chore to them, just stop playing. Simple. If they keep playing for whatever stupidity they chose to, then play the game. Just going through the hassle of doing something you don't like quitr obviously impacts others in team game modes. Have a little respect for others. Failing that, have a little respect for yourself and just don't play if you don't like it.
-
Incidentally Forsaken seems to be doubling down on this with the bi-weekly resets, daily missions and weekly city changes. You're basically going to HAVE to do X, Y and Z each reset and each week in order NOT to miss that weeks unique milestone, reward, quest or whatever. The exact opposite of choosing your own way through the game.
-
Ya, they do like to make you eat the whole meal.. I don't think I've ever done a crucible milestone, and I've just accepted I'll be one milestone behind every week. You don't HAVE to do them all. Pick n choose.
-
If playing the entire game is such a chore, then people are free to go play a different game.
-
If people did play other games regularly I wonder if they'd have the urge to complain about this one in the forum lol
-
What other AAA game do people think they should play for a 1000 hours and not run out of things to do...... .....,for a one-time price of $60??
-
I'm thinking just other games in general since a ton of games exist out there whether they're new or retro
-
Yep they are. Forsaken is supposed to bring us back. Just pointing out that I will not be returning until I see that they have not put any of the nonsense like impossible rng and time gated content in. Otherwise you may as well just wait for all the timegates to be lifted and the r g to be "corrected" before wasting yout time.

I don't think you understand how addiction works. This game was made with addiction in mind and has nearly all aspects of an addiction.

Editado por TheArtist: 7/6/2018 1:09:56 PM1. I come from a family with a history of alcoholism. My brother is a recovering alcoholic with about 20 years of sobriety. 2. I also have professional training in the area. 3. I am myself a recovering Adult Grandchild of Alcoholics. Anything that alters our mood, or has the ability to make us feel good, has the potential to become addicting. Odds are that 10% of "hardcore gamers" are in fact "process addicted" to video gaming (which is probably why so many of them are so angry and unhappy). But at the end of the day, the only person who is responsible for their addiction IS THE ADDICT. The need to assign blame elsewhere is the denial, and the disease talking. Either the addiction trying to protect itself in the addict.....or codependency in enablers. If the game is a chore to play, then go play something else. If the compulsion to play is so strong that you can't resist it even though you strongly dislike it and get no enjoyment from it......get help.

You seem to have hit the nail on the head with what I said about "You can't blame these people for just going through the motions".
...
I'm fortunate in that I recognise the systems that Bungie have created to enable people like this and sadly attempt to create those people. The terrible and near impossible rng for instance is 100% deliberate. The deliberate way that they didn't inform people that the nightfall rewards didn't work while watching those very same people run 100s of nightfalls trying to get the very rewards that were "broken". This game was originally designed to be a hamster wheel with fun being a secondary consideration. Do you remember a game called Amnesia: A machine for pigs. Basically it placed you as the pig in a machine designed solely to lead you to your willing slaughter. Destiny 2 could literally have been renamed Destiny: A machine for whales. The problem Bungie ran into was that the majority of gamers are 1. Not whales and 2. Usually of above average intelligence (comes from gaming and playing out changing scenarios actually being a brains preferred learning tool). You do that enough and you naturally become adept at spotting patterns and behavioural steers.
