I think adding a ranking system would help regular crucible be more bearable for everyone by giving sweaty players a way to play with other sweaties and casuals with casuals. Teams in ranked would be more balanced for those who want to actually play competitively on a regular basis.
Ranking should be based on a combination of both player performance and team performance so that players who routinely do well but are put on losing teams aren't as negatively penalized; and playing as a team will be an incentive to those who usually don't and only worry about themselves because winning will further help with their rank.
Ranking should also take into account how much a player goes for the objective in objective based playlists to further incentivize those players who usually ignore the objective ((for example, the more captures you have the more it helps your rank but not having any captures or only 1 (at the start) will have a negative impact)).
Edit: many people have misunderstood what I mean by sweaty and casual. I simply mean a casual playlist where games don't count towards your stats and you don't have to try extremely hard, some could say this is cbmm. It's for people that just want to play pvp but not intensely. Ranked is where everything counts towards your stats and is skill based matchmaking
