To those who want our "stuff" to transfer...
In destiny 2, we are not carrying anything over to the new game. And some people want our stuff to carry over to this new game. So, here is what I have to say to these people...
[b]1. Destiny 2 will be limited if this happens.[/b] Bungie would be held back on revamping the gun system...we could have a whole new system where we could make our own perks or perhaps craft our own guns from scratch. But if we have the weapons in destiny 1, we couldn't have a new weapon system that could make the game feel less relaying on rng.
[b]2. These guns are broken.[/b] The guns in destiny 1 are just broken, you have a select few that are just so overpowered that no matter how many nerfs it gets, it will always be overpowered (Last Word, Matador 64, HoF Pulses, Etc.) And these guns will still be overpowered in destiny 1 and destiny 2.
[b]3. A fresh start.[/b] I think most of us are tired of using the same guns or getting killed with the same guns. I don't want to be killed by a god roll hawksaw anymore, I don't want another 7 years of that 1 gun getting on my nerves and being used over and over. A new start will let new guns be used that are brand new to our eyes.
[b]4. Light.[/b] We don't know how Bungie wants to do the level system, they could go back to a year 1 like system or want to have a new system we never seen. But if they have to make all of these weapons and armor to fit in this new system, it will take a lot of unnecessary time.
This is what will make destiny 2 the best game it can be.
(And 1 more thing, people complain about destiny starting over, while a lot of these same people play Call of Duty and never open there mouths about every year having to start over there level.)

Hopefully p2p connections don't transfer over. I'd be super stoked to see the only thing I've wanted since day 1. Reliable connections.

14 RespostasNo physical items (weapons, armour, charms, arm bands/capes/belts, or anything like that) should transfer over at all, it's a fresh start game. Especially considering the story of the game, your vault is gone, and the shipyard in the tower is of course destroyed. It makes no sense to keep those items simply from a story aspect. I could see emblems transferring, but if they didn't I wouldn't care. New game, new stuff. Out with the old, in with the new.

It'd be cool if down the road there's a mission that leads to the wreckage of your vault where you can salvage some of your old gear. Everyone's cache would be tied to your account and would be unique. This should happen later though, so we can have time with a new inventory. Then, maybe after the first DLC or something, you go and grab some of your stuff and use it with new content. Could be a fun blast from the past type of deal if they do it right.

Our guardian in destiny 2 would have had to have been relaxing and put his weapons away or gave them to banshee for maintenance to lose every weapon in the vault and on his person.

I think the answer is in the trailer, why are we digging guardians out of the rubble of the tower if normally there ghost would revive them? So in my mind we did not die and survived our fall and our gear we had equipped was "damaged" and with limited resources and no proper means to repair our stuff we will be replacing our damaged gear and weapons with new ones as we get them.

If our armor really isn't carrying over, what about what we're wearing at the time? Do we get knocked out and someone steals our clothes? And then puts a different set of clothes on us? That's kind of weird.

Nothing you listed in the broken gun section is overpowered. ALL shotguns are incredibly easy to counter after the accuracy nerf. TLW is worse than it already was now that it's got shit on even more. And pulse rifles aren't high rof pulses aren't overpowered in the slightest. They don't do anything special. They have their place in the meta and can be countered. Now, a better point I feel could've been made; Instead of crafting our own weapons and perks, which is ludicrous in a multiplayer game, we could simply have different weapons in general. Different archetypes, different perks, a chance to let bungie create a balanced pvp and a more versatile and creative pve experience. If you're mad about them breaking their promises, I'm with you. But if you honestly believe it's what's best for the game, I strongly disagree.

TLW? Overpowered? That has to be the funniest thing I've heard about destiny this year. The gun is horrible in this meta. Maybe if this were Y1, I'd agree with you. Back when handcannons were fun to use.

They can take my guns and my armor. Just leave me my thoughtcrime pls. Or include ships that look like it in destiny 2 that can be bought with in game currency from a vendor. Took a year and a half worth of banner to get it. Damn you RNGesus
