It is messed up, i'm from Finland and hardly ever see other people from the Nordic region in the crucible. Italians and Middle Eastern players are in almost every lobby, and a big portion of them seem to have horrible internet on top of the distance that will cause lag on its own. It's also a regular thing to get matched with people from both North and South America, and sometimes even with Japanese players. The only players that i'm not seeing on a regular basis are the Aussies, but i'm sure Bungie will eventually manage to mess up the matchmaking even further and get me playing with them as well. Maybe the local infrastructre is bad and nothing better is available in some parts of the world, maybe it's just the distance and Destinys bad netcode, but in the end nobody benefits from this situation. I fully understand that the Nordic region has a low population and therefore regional lobbies cannot happen all the time but there is absolutely no reason to constantly match me with people that are from the opposite end of this continent, or even from another continents, when there should be plenty of players in other regions of Europe that are closer. Less popular games do a much better job in finding regional lobbies, and i see similar complaints from people who are located in highly populated areas. It really doesn't help that the netcode seems to reward the players who are lagging or have packet loss, you get delayed or no hit detection at all when it comes to them, but they seem to have no problems in gunning you down.
