[IMPORTANT EDIT] Two players in NMS were on the same planet, in the same out post, stood in the same location and could not see one another.

https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/4wya5t/two_streamers_are_on_the_same_planet_and_cant_see/ This could mean one of three things. 1) The netcode is broken. 2) they were in separate lobbies/instances. 3) the feature was removed during development. Just an update, as somebody who has been watching this stream from the beginning both players can be found here: http://multitwitch.tv/psytokat/thesadcactus They have met up a few times in both the space station and on the planet - as in, they are both in the same exact spot, trying to manipulate the environment, etc - they cannot see each other, nor the changes, nor the ships Further, it doesn't even look like the game even syncs up time, since one player is in that spot and its day time, and for the other it's night time Conclusion so far: At this moment they have done a whole lot to try to prove that multiplayer exists now that the "it will be next to impossible to find each other" limitation is now a NON ISSUE , but so far it looks like even the illusion of "somebody being there" doesn't exist (http://i.imgur.com/NKOqmI7.png) 5:20PM : Both players are relogging in the same exact spot to see if they end up "in the same lobby" (if thats a thing). It looks like at this point one player has revealed he does not have PSN plus, however [ign reports its not required](http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/07/25/no-mans-sky-wont-require-playstation-plus-to-play-online). So that player is signing up 5:28PM : Both players now have PSN - and are relogging. It seems that one player now has a bug where its showing him disconnected from online services- so they are trying to fix that 5:35: Online activated on both games - both have relogged, time looks be synced up so they see the same planet/time of day - still no indication of them seeing each other - or seeing each other's planet destruction. We are back to square one. IMPORTANT EDIT:
Two players finding each other on a stream in the first day – that has blown my mind. We added a ‘scan for other players’ in the Galactic Map to try to encourage this happening. We wanted it to happen – but the first day? We want people to be aware they are in a shared universe. We added online features, and some Easter Eggs to create cool moments. We hope to see those happening… but too many of you are playing right now. More than we could have predicted. It is a testament to how amazing our network coders are that Discoveries are still working at all.
Straight from the horses mouth. Sean Murray himself. The ability to see other players is not working because the servers are metaphorically on fire. To be honest this doesn't surprise me because at the end of the day Hello Games is an independent Game Development Studio. All the money used in the actual making of no man's sky came out of their pockets. In his Reddit AMA Sean Murray stated that Sony had no Financial or Creative input during the Development of No Man's Sky. That the deal between Hello Games and Sony was as follows. In exchange for Free Marketing, Console Exclusivity, and both Financial and creative independence. Hello Games is to make No Man's Sky a PlayStation Console Exclusive, as well as Prioritize the PlayStation release.
