Only buff it needs is for it to not lose health automatically. Bungie implemented this around the time when they nerfed sunbreakers. It means that when the bubble has been placed for a while it can get destroyed with one golden gun shot.

Over time, the Titan's willpower deteriorates from exhaustion, especially against damage. Aside from celestial nighthawk, I've [b][i][u]never[/u][/i][/b] seen one golden gun shot shut down WoD

The Ward of Dawn's power, just like any super power in any universe, is dependent on the user's willpower. Willpower weakens over time. Up against a Voidwalker, who probably has the strongest mind lore-wise, WoD understandably doesn't completely protect against the nova bomb.
