I'm transgender, AMA
T4R. I see this topic being brought up a lot since the NC bathroom laws passed and i figured i could help prevent misinformation by making a thread. I'm down to answer whatever questions you have. I hope that by making this thread, I can help people to better understand something that is not very well-understood, that being the nature of transgender people. (Spoiler: Caitlyn Jenner is a poor reference for this)
Also, reminder that "you just want attention" posts are the ultimate form of attention whoring.

I have achieved a physique that most would think is too much. My point is, I go to a shrink, he says that most of my drug abuse and steroid use is because of body dysmorphia. Which is true. I look in the mirror and see a tiny guy. So according to psychologist I have an issue with my body, and it's a type of mental disorder I guess you can call it. Is this the same for gender dysmorphia ? Wouldn't it be pretty much the same thing? One is just gender, other is body. But me taking hormones to get muscular is viewed negatively. But men who transition to women take estrogen and that's viewed as perfectly fine.

2 RespostasDo you think you felt this way before you knew the difference between a man and a woman? Could the "sudden" "spread" of transgenderisum (made up word?) be caused by the enhanced social acceptance of the lgbt community? Does it bother you to not be able to use the restroom of your "perceived" gender? Why are labels so important to people?
