For all of you that don't know, ganking is the act of summoning one or more friendly phantoms into your world, and then proceeding to allow yourself to be invaded. This creates anywhere from a 2v1 scenario to a 4v1 scenario.
The question that I beg to ask is: why do people feel the need to gank? Can they really not win a 1v1 fight on their own? Are they anarchists who just want to watch the world burn? The world may never know. But ganking has been, and still is, a major problem since Demon's Souls.
I can understand if you summoned a phantom for a boss fight and someone invades you. You just want to kill your boss, dammit! But the deliberate act of ganking to win PVP fights in inexcusable. I would love to hear someone try to justify this behavior.
The fact of the matter is that people who gank are bad at the game. If they were any gud, they would 1v1 people like the rest of us. I've had a million more times fun participating in fight clubs than I've ever had ganking some poor soul. It's a disgusting display of scrubbiness and needs to stop.
TL;DR - Ganking is an abusal of the summoning system to win unfair fights. It's an utter annoyance and disgrace to the Souls series and needs to stop.
Post opinions down below! I'd love to hear from an actual ganker about how much ass he/she sucks at the game.
I'm making this in response to Peeve's most recent video. The gank therein is the most disgusting thing ever.
Well I recently got invaded by 5 spirits in a row after using dried fingers to summon my friends. Shit that was chaos.
-
If people want to be dicks, and invade me, they pay the price.
-
2 RespostasDon't invade then and you won't get ganked, use your summon sign or else it's fair game.

10 RespostasEditado por HoldayInCambodiA: 5/2/2016 11:34:36 PMSo I'd heard about the souls games, and thought they sounded cool. Picked up ds2 on offer, came waaaaay late in the game, knew NOTHING at all. Wanted to play through and just discover it, properly. Had no idea about character builds (still don't) covenants, nothing. Took me ages to work out rolling. Got lost. Died a lot. I mean loads and loads and loads. But it was fun. I properly enjoyed it. Right up until I got to the gargoyles. This was when I was first properly invaded. Right when I was fighting the boss. Dead. No mercy. Murdered. Right then. Fortunately I had that ring that saves your souls but breaks. Went and got it repaired. Went back. Got invaded and murdered by some freaking ninja before boss. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Eventually got back to the boss. Invaded. Murdered. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Etc. For weeks. I never killed that boss. And that's why I stopped playing dark souls. There is no honor in dark souls. So, finding out that there is a way to make twinked out invaders who do nothing but troll poor idiots like me get murdered, fills me with an immense and indescribable joy. Thanks op.

Why do people call it ganking? It sounds so dumb. I guess the term "Zerg" was too casual.

2 RespostasEditado por Troy the Unggoy: 5/2/2016 11:12:04 PMGanking is considered dirty but everyone does it.

I thought ganking was when you hide from an invader/host and ambush them from safety to score a quick victory. Either way, Dark Souls is a game where you can (and should) use every tactic at your disposal. If you can only fight fair and expect everyone else to do the same, you will probably lose a lot
-
Why is it called ganking? Why not just 'ganging'
-
I'm fine with it. You take that risk when you invade. I've lost so many PvP fights through lag back stabs. Shit happens.....
-
I gank when either the host is gonna die in a 1v1, another one invaded and B-lines it for the host so I jump in and finish off the first, or the asshole wants to use adds. Like -blam!- you, you'll be as miserable as possible if thats the case, and alsp katana/estoc spammers, I'll make them miserable if I could
-
That's risk you get invading random people, just git gud
-
Whenever i have a summon and i get invaded, i let the summon and invader duke it out. And if my summon dies, they earn the right to face me.
-
I hate ganking, but I don't agree with the idea that it's abusing the summon system. I just wish that people would see me as a noble invader which is what I try to be, and not assault me with a million people.
-
Random invasions, all bets are off. But in a duel, ganking is extremely dishonorable. I remember being summoned into a duel, I see the host and a sunbro invader. Naturally I fight the sunbro invader...then the host comes to gank me...I had to stop myself from messaging them into a 1v1 because I knew they wouldn't hold up to the honor, all I know is that sunbro was close to dying but chugged his estus religiously.
-
If I invade and there is more than one player already, I'm fine with it. But, if I'm summoned to be ganked, that's shitty.
-
5 Respostas63% obviously don't invade. It is so fucking annoying. Of course I'm going to heal and run you little shits, I'm not God
-
9 RespostasYou're a little shit if you can't handle a 1v1 in Dark Souls
-
As much as I wish they'd fight me one on one, if I've invaded their world, they have a right to protection. "They never asked for this."
-
I think ganking is fine and I'm a frequent invader who runs into it. It's not as much ganking in this game. More of team fights which is very fun. Another thing with ganking is it provides a challenge for better players who dominate 1v1 pvp. Personally the feeling of ripping apart a gank is my favorite in Dark Souls 3.
-
Isn't that what the Blue Sentinels are for? Fyi, I keep it on 100% of the time to help out when people get invaded.
