Benjamin "Ben" P. Marquard
March 27, 1983 — March 30, 2016
Benjamin "Ben" P. Marquard, age 33, of Ashland, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the MMC hospital in Ashland after a two and one-half year battle with leukemia. Ben was born on March 27, 1983, to Kenneth and Mary Jo Marquard in Wausau.
He grew up in Merrill and attended Wausau West High School. After high school he served in the U.S. Army, became a combat engineer, and then in 2006 he went over seas for a tour in Ramadi, Iraq. During that time he met Becky Lueloff, shortly after coming home in 2009, they were wed in Ashland, on March 23, 2009. On March 10, 2010, they gave birth to their beautiful boy Cole.
Ben was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed dirt track racing, Ashland ice racing, snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle and a friendly archery competition with his family. You could usually find him at the shop, hanging out with the guys working on cars, but most of all he can be remembered as a family man.
Ben is survived by his loving wife Becky and son Cole of Ashland; father Kenneth Marquard of Kronewetter; mother Mary Jo Marquard of Merrill; brothers Nickolas (Shanna) Marquard of Rib Mountain and Christopher (Lori) Marquard of Otselic, N.Y.; grandmother Fritze Marquard of Stevens Point; father and mother-in-law Patrick and Barbara Lueloff of Loretta; brothers-in-law Steven Lueloff of Winter and Dustin Lueloff of Wausau; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was a good friend and a great Father. He did not play Destiny nor would he fault anyone for so doing. Today I fight In Bens Memory, for his wife and young son, may my aim be true. See you in the Iron Banner. Thank You, to my community. Calling for All DoD Backwater to post Bens name in your status to help me honor his family.
