Division was never going to kill destiny, they are too different despite fitting in a similar genre. As for the review, he makes some good points, but it's also clear that he doesn't like the game style and rushed through it to make a review without getting into any serious depth. Just as quick example, his complaints about bullet sponging: If you actually gear up properly enemies aren't even any more spongey than destiny, except SOMEWHAT the challenging mode enemies because they are two levels up and thus have better gear -> armour/dps/hp. (There is no actual differential between damage dealt/taken due to level difference in the division, however there IS some natural stat scaling, plus better gear = more stats). With my buffs applied I one-shot headshot every at-level enemy with my bolt-action sniper that isn't even ilvl31, or high end, but merely a lvl 30 purple. Excepting miniboss and boss enemies of course, but even they melt pretty fast. And my SMG melts stuff almost as fast, with more staying power due to rate of fire and mag cap. Even on challenging it doesn't take me THAT many marksman rifle headshots, and I can typically 1-mag-or-less kill the rusher and sniper enemies with my SMG (obviously I need to be in close to the snipers because cover and etc), significantly less if I pop the damage super. As for enemy types, aesthetically sure, but tactically speaking they are significantly different from each other. And realistically what are you going to do aesthetically that they havn't already done. Put them in superhero costumes or something? For example some faction grenadiers use incendiary grenades, which tend to be significantly more dangerous than standard frags, at least situationally. One enemy type uses flashbangs... but when you get to the high level enemies in challenging missions, one faction replaces those with white phosphorous grenades, which are very dangerous (and a nasty surprise when you first encounter them!). Two factions rushers are melee and not all that dangerous if you focus them... then suddenly others have shotgunners which WILL wreck you if you don't focus them even sooner and harder than the melees. Some heavies get an indestructible ballistic shield. I could go on. Suffice to say enemies are different.

This forum is hypocritical. If destiny has bullet sponges the forum would be in an uproar. Since division has it it's okay. This forum is just a big hate group.

Beneath the anger he made valid points. However, a lot of folks are loving the game as it is, with more content and updates coming down the pike. If you don't have the game and experience it for yourself then you can't really speak on it with any credibility.

Angry Joe review? This isn't worth discussing, this guy's review are crap. The only opinions that matter are your own. Try the game out. Don't like it? Sell it. Like it? Keep it. Simple as that.
