Sniping takes no skill. Prove me wrong
So let's get this out of the way. I'm not salty nor am I calling for a nerf.
Okay since that's out of the way, sniping here takes no skill. You may (of course many of you) will say "it's totally skilled, jus adapt scrub!" Or try and bring up kd and of course I really won't give two shits.
Now I've noticed that snipers haven't been touched since day 1, yet there's now a problem with them now. Of course it was skillful compared to shotgunning *cough* I mean scrubgunning.
If you want to say sniping takes skill on here then you're delusional. It's simply point, aim, blap, then headshot. When compared to sniping in games where it factors in the bullet drop, leading your target, and zero in your scope.
That, ladies and scrubs takes skill if not a lot of skill. Of course I know many of you will disagree, say things that are not relevant to the topic, and of course try to rebuttal my statement.

Honestly they could add a bunch of stuff to make it harder and you would still come on the forum and say that it takes no skill. Halo was my favorite sniping, battlefield was fun too, but honestly if you are going to make a real argument please explain which game has sniping that takes skill. Then I will prove you wrong because I destroy in all of them

2 RespostasI been screaming this since day one but what's worst is the guy that can't snipe body shots you and some random cleaning you up.if bungie makes sniping about skill no aim assist,scope zero in,and leading target no one would use it cause it's no longer the cheap easy kill hiding behind the wall.and that's why this game is broken.its about fun and participation.not balance and skill.how many times you have to nerf and buff the same gun.because they changing on reaction and not how it should be.

Don't agree. Didn't read post but if anything, that should say "1000yd stair takes no skill". What about the snipers that don't have great aim assist, or whatever.

After months of not using a shotgun I went and picked up the test shotgun that banshee gives out for the rep. I went on an 6 kill spree in minutes with that thing. Even got first blood. I didn't even really aim at the general direction. I just fired and I got the kill. I've never done that with a sniper....which I've preferred to do since before the 1000k stare was even acquired....so

I think it takes a certain skill. Probably easy for some. I can't snipe for dook. But I can get sniped like a champ. Also, if it works, then who cares? Is there any nobility in warfare?

I'll Admit in other games like battlefield, sniping is more complex and requires more skill, but in its own right, sniping in Destiny does take skill. Just because it is more difficult in other games doesn't mean there is no difficulty to it in Destiny.

I dont understand your main point. Are you criticising people for choosing 1 of the only 2 truely viable options when picking their weapon type in crucible or are you criticizing bungie for not adding sway, bullet drop, bullet speed etc into their game?

Put a sniper in a new persons hands and put a shotgun in the same players hands. They will get more kills with the shotgun. Ps I run NLB shotgun.

1 ResponderIt takes skill because you aren't sniping in a void against CPUs. It doesn't matter if sniping in destiny was the easiest thing that has ever existed in a video game ever (which i don't agree with but suppose that it is), you have to execute this simple action FASTER and more accurately than your enemy who is also trying to do the exact same easy thing. The skill isn't really ever in the difficulty of the action, skill is always relative. So yes, sniping an npc that isn't shooting you takes no skill, but sniping someone trying to snipe you takes skill. If nothing in this game took skill then most gun fights would end in draws and everyone would have around a 1 kd.

It doesn't take a lot of skill because there's no factors the scope is constantly steady and doesn't sway, I mean destiny is the easiest game to snipe in.
