To boost sales for ps4 because it would be mostly halo fans inerested playing on the xbox. Basically to garantee it sold well on both platforms.
It seems Bungie took this into consideration as most of the content is subpar. Weapons are average, the strikes are usually bottom favorites.
Iron Banner Gear? The only logical reason to be agitated over that is for the asthetic reasons. We already have gear. So what if theres another armor skin, it wont be OP gear. Its basically letting ps users play dressup a bit more.

So wait, besides from getting hawk moon and Monte Carlo late, the other content is pointless? And Xbox isn't missing out?

Not in my opinion. Its disapointing as a halo fan, makes things seem shady. But they aren't. And we still have better online services as xbox players. For me its smoother gameplay vs a few extra average things. A few guns and a strike are not going to make me switch to Playstation. After all theres no halo on ps. And what does sony have that compares to halo? Jak and Daxter? Meh. I can wait a year. All good.
