I don't play Destiny because it's fun. I play it because I want the loot. Because I want to be max light. But why? What's the point of being 320 light? Bragging rights? Just hear me out for a second. I'm going to list some activities, and then give the reason I do them. Raids: I want the loot. Not because it's fun. It's extremely boring. Daily Missions: I want the marks. Not fun. Extremely boring. Daily Crucible: Want the marks. 9 times out of 10 get matched with shitty players getting blown out by 5000+ points. Strikes: I want the loot. Boring as f-ck. Not fun at all. So, as you can see, I pretty much do everything for the loot. But...WHY do I want the loot in the first place? If the game is boring, why does it matter if I have 170 different pieces of gear to choose from? Honestly...I'm ashamed at how much time I've given this game. I've literally wasted over 40 days of my life. And for what? To grind for the next piece of "sweet loot?" To throw more money at the screen? Destiny is the first game that ever made me say to my friends "I can't do ____ with you tonight because I HAVE to do the raid." Or I "HAVE" to do trials tonight. I don't [i]have[/i] to do shit. And neither do you. I played over 600 hours before I got my first Gjallarhorn. And where is that Gjallarhorn now? It's floating around in oblivion since I dismantled it when Bungie decided to make it irrelevant. I'm getting off the hamster wheel, guys, and seeing Destiny for what it is. A bloody slot machine. Never have I played a game in which my time and dedication was disregarded so much. A game in which my skill meant absolutely nothing. If you enjoy Destiny, keep enjoying it. This isn't a knock against anyone. I just can't spend the next "10 years" grinding for gear to use in a game that I don't even like. Pvp is probably the most "fun" aspect of the game and between the zoo of animal error codes, the lagfest created by desperate no-skill cheaters, and the constant pandering to scrub lords crying for nerfs, it's just not even worth playing anymore. Goodbye you guys. I'll still always be a gamer. I just refuse to waste any more of life farming gear for the sake of farming gear. -Dom out
