Strike or Story mission idea (Tell me what you think(
Get ready for a very long post.I think it's a good idea, what do you guys think?
So we're asking for something to feel attached to and a place to "Become legend" with a story. I'm thinking about a mission (strike or story) that can give us this. The basis is that the vex within the vault of glass are doing a ritual that takes them back to the twilight gap, and their objective is to finish us, give the fallen an edge. For those of you who don't know, the battle of the twilight gap, is a fight where every fallen house grouped up on us, and we lost millions of guardians. The wolves would've finished us, but the queen cut them off from the reef and we were able to BARELY survive. Fun fact: gjallarhorn is made of armor from the dead guardians of the twilight gap. Anyway, let's get to the mission. I will require a fireteam of 3, matchmaking enabled.
The exposition where you fly in has Ikora talking about the vex ritual, and how the vex within the vault of glass are pushing to the past of the twilight gap. She tells you it is your job to intervene, and stop them from completing it. Upon arrival of the vault's door, the seal is cracked from the taken. You enter with your team, and on your way down Ikora is updating you on how close the ritual is complete (Very). When you get to the templars well arena you are ambushed by the vex. Minotaur majors and hobgoblin snipers ambush you from the left and right sides, and there is the ritual of goblins offering the weapons to where the fountain of light previously was (The cleansing thing for the templar). Ikora tells you the ritual has already completed, and the circle where the fountain of light is becomes a portal. As you fight through a couple of vex get inside the portal. You clear the room and Ikora comes back on the comms. She says that they plan to enforce the weapons on the fallen ketches to obliterate the cities walls, and the only way to keep them from getting there is to go back in time and enter yourself to stop the vex.
So you enter, and you arrive on the crucible map the twilight gap. Imagine the spawn with the large metal bridge to the right, and the building to the left. Lord Saladin, Zavala, and shaxx are bickering on comms. Ikora's connection with you cuts out. Bodies of guardians can be seen peppering the map, and ghost tells you that what killed them are slap rifles and torch hammers (weapons of the vex). Ghost cannot track them, and he tells you to play along like you're the only guardians left on the outpost. three regular turrets can be seen on the left hand side of the map. Lord Saladin tells you to grab the turrets and take out the incoming skiffs. Your fireteam does so and the objective is to have guardians shooting the same skiff at once for quicker kills, Zavala shouts this to you on comms. After five or seven skiffs this part of the mission is over, and a ketch enters the scene.
As Zavala curses the situation, Shaxx says there is some kind of anomaly going on within the ketch. Ghost tells you to scan an nearby relay on the area you spawned in with, and he uses the relay to confirm it is the vex. A cutscene occurs, and three skiffs ambush you by emerging from below the cliff to come in front of you. Your fireteam rushes to cover(the column within the spawn), and ghost says that it's possible to use the skiffs to get to the ketch and stop the vex. Your fireteam jumps on the bottom of the skiff, a skiff for each guardian. You grab a dregs leg, pull him down and enter through his drop circle. You use the dregs shock pistol to clear the room, and the cutscene drives the skiff into the different parts of the ketch.
The next scene starts with you leaving the skiff through transmat, dropping you off. Each guardian spawns within a section of the skiff, different for each guardian. One spawns within the throne room, another in the hangar, and one more in the hallways in between the two to cover ground. The guardian within the hangar fights vex arming the skiffs and controls with vex tech, the guardian in the hallway both vex and fallen, and the other within the throne room fighting just fallen. The two guardians not within the hangar fight to it, and the guardians eventually clear the room. Ghost scans the vex tech, removes it via transmat, and Ikora comes back in through heavily distorted comms checking in. Ghost tells fills her in and she tells you the portal should be opening again. Your fireteam takes a skiff together to get back to the twilight gap in a cutscene and you enter the portal. Ghost takes you to orbit once inside the vault of glass.
