Just to clear the air. I'm a Sunbreaker main. I hope HoS does not gets nerfed (I'd love that actually). But the fact is, eventually Bungie will turn our direction with the nerf bat and swing away. I'd rather offer suggestions than hope they don't castrate Sunbreakers.
Here's my theory on how to balance HoS without a neutering it:
Forgemaster: When Hammer of Sol is active, Titans have reduced Agility and Lift (or alternatively, reduced damage reduction).
Suncharge: Hammers consume more super energy, Suncharge consumes less super energy.
Fire Keeper: Hammers consume considerably less super energy when standing in a Sunspot.
1. Titans will be slightly easier targets with Forgemaster, but that's the trade off for having extra hammers. Risk vs Reward.
2. Suncharge will be viable choice, but emphasizes Suncharging in close proximity over throwing hammers. Risk vs Reward.
3. Sunspots (Scorched Earth/Fire Keeper) get a much needed buff. 2-3 more hammers than Forgemaster and an overshield, but at the cost of being limited to Sunspots for maximum effectiveness. Risk vs Reward.
TL;DR - More hammers, but be an easier target. Or be a tougher target, but have less hammers.
Edit 1: No longer applicable
Edit 2: Additional tags
Edit 3: Clarifying some stuff up front to help those who don't read the entire post
Edit 4: Added suggested buff to Fire Keeper. Currently, Forge Master in itself nets more hammers than the Scorched Earth/Fire Keeper combo.
Edit 5: 600+ replies and trending, keep it up guys!
Edit 6: 800+ replies!!! Added a note up top since people read 'no double jump' and freak out.
Edit 7: Simplified the entire post and made it shorter. Also limited mobility limitation to just the Forgemaster talent and a change to Suncharging to emphasize Suncharge over throwing hammers. This distinctly separates the 3 builds from each other and helps address some things you guys had issues with.
Edit 8: 1000+ replies!!! Also fixed some grammar
Edit 9: 1200+ replies :) by popular demand, added an alternative change to Forgemaster
I like. But reduce tankiness a bit also.

1 ResponderEditado por SoSorryUDie: 10/16/2015 3:06:44 PMYou're stupid. The subclass is built around the super. The super is OP because it's a SUPER. Nothing else about the class is OP. Out of the 10-15 minutes a match, you all are complaining of the 40secs - 1 min(combined activation time) while the super is active. And it easily countered by RUNNING AND JUMPING. You're a harder targer to hit if your moving, especially moving away, and if in you're the air. Not only do you save yourself, but you just saved your team by making that sunbreaker waste his super. Said Titan is going to be so fixated on you and won't be able to hit you. Stupid crucible noobs crying for nerf when the answer is right in front of their faces.

2 RespostasEditado por Erijian: 10/16/2015 1:15:44 PMOr Bungie could just bring their damage reduction in-line with other mobile Supers. Losing 5% damage reduction in PvE would hardly be noticeable for the player (Especially if running Cauterize) and would make them feel less bulky for players trying to play against them in PvP. Anything else is just unnecessary to be honest.

Not a bad idea.
-
Honestly, I think they could still use lift while in HoS, but for a reduced time and height.
-
3 RespostasThat's a retarded idea. Gunslingers can jump. Sunsingers can jump. Bladedancers can jump. You cannot change any of the perks on sunbreakers. You can only tweak the numbers.
-
I like this.
-
5 RespostasStop crying about sunbreaker -blam!-, what you don't see is that there is a thing called a -blam!-ing tether which instantly removes the damn super, so why don't you get -blam!-ing good and use it.
-
1 ResponderI mean they are the "tanks". Tanks don't fly.
-
1 ResponderI like this idea a lot So anyone saying that sun breakers aren't OP in crucible are obviously using one, fact is a super that allows you to roam, ohko, chain explosives, regen health, wipe a full team and generate roughly enough orbs to charge another super is OP and people need to accept that. It's not due to lack of skill from other players it's just impossible to do anything about a sunbreaker unless you're lucky. I don't see how gunslinger is more OP either, I'm not saying nerf the **** out of it but balance it for pvp because IB has been full f Titans dominating the battlefield and fuelling each others supers to basically make it mayhem

8 RespostasWhy do you titan mains think it's alright to have extra armor, life regen, possible shield and aoe+dot , with 7+ golden gun shots. You guys are -blam!-ing insane thinking that's balanced or deserved.

4 RespostasThey don't need a nerf. Night stalker is the perfect counter. Hunters need to stop being selfish and learn a support role. Titans have been bubbling since atheon
-
You forgot number 7. Titans will suck
-
This sounds great
-
3 RespostasWhy not make the hammers like rockets? If you throw a hammer too close to yourself, you die. Might require the user to think skillfully instead of spamming the buttons.
-
1 ResponderThe best way to fix sunbreakers is to leave them the hell alone.
-
Editado por glock: 10/16/2015 1:58:35 PMBollocks. They should just make it so you can't make your hammers track & heal at the same time, them 2 perks need to be in the same upgrade section so you can only chose one of them. The health regeneration perk should only regenerate health not armour too. They also should make it so if you throw a hammer you lose a lot more of your super energy but if you get a kill with the hammer you get some super energy back. (So it makes people go for a lot of kills instead of just throwing random hammers and hoping for a kill)
-
Good work.
-
-
Good idea, it's a shame they won't use it
-
5 RespostasYeah, no reason for a tank to run at Porsche speed
-
2 RespostasThere is no need to nerf Sunbreakers. It is an OP super but the other classes each have one too. The bladedancer and storm trance are both OP and people run from them in the crucible. Why can't the titan have one too?
-
5 RespostasAre we forgetting about the T-Rex arms that Titans have? And the lack of any form of blink/dodge roll/ sniper melee outside of super? On top of that, you get to be emperor palpatine for lord knows how long with transcendence, and you get to shutdown AND one shot non-super targets with shadowshot up to three times. AND shadowshots have some tracking. Preeeetty sure you spend more time being able to blink/dodge roll/ melee than being able to be a highly fortified tank for like, 15 seconds.

1 ResponderI agree we should screw titans over because their armor is ungodly.... Something that should only come from exotic armor type of armor...... But they would never change the super unselfish so it's a waste theorizing..... Only stat changes will happen

3 RespostasI read; "How to fix sunbreakers"... and stopped right there.
