15 RespostasNOTE: I find the PC platform to be completely viable. It's just not for me. 1) Price A computer with the same power as the current gens would cost roughly 700-800 dollars if you built it. Getting a pre-built one with a warranty and customer support is up into the thousands. Not up for that down payment. People bring up games and sales, but the reality is that you can still play cheaply by simply staying behind the curve. Fallout 4 will be my first 60$ release in what...a year and a half? Furthermore, I'm not really interested in regular indies, but they happen to be the biggest thing on steam. Premium indies (eg. Warframe/Arc) and AAA's are my cup of tea. 2) Complications Closed systems are actually very beneficial in many ways, despite their obvious drawbacks. No need to worry about hardware, viruses, input support, software, how that software interacts with everything, etc. 3) Console AAA's > PC AAA's Man, I hate saying this, but it has been made very apparent over the years that most AAA's have been geared towards consoles rather than PC. If I want the best AAA experience, I'm better off on console. 4) I already own a low end Mac This is the biggest reason. Why would I drop so much cash for something unnecessary? I can play any regular indie on my rincky dink little mac, while I can play any AAA and premium indie on my X1. Overall, a high end PC, for my situation, is beyond redundant. I couldn't care less about 1080p.
