I have been with destiny since the 3rd week of release. I have paid for all dlc's, and even though I could have bought a mic, I didn't. I chose not to. This isn't a thread of me whining, and I am not looking for anyone's pity. However, any time, since vanilla destiny, when I joined a fireteam everyone was fine with me not using a mic, as long as I could hear. This time, I joined a team to do the Warpriest. Upon joining the game, everyone else was in a party, and so we started the game. Every thing was fine. Until I was invited to the party. This one guy said hey, and when I didn't respond, he saw I didn't have a mic he said that I was a "cheap piece of [REDACTED] who should go cry to his mommy and suck my [REDACTED] for being such a [REDACTED]". So, this is my "legend". I've earned respect from my friends, at everything I played. So now, a teenager, intends to imply that I am worse than him, even though I have beaten every endgame activity in year 1, reached the 5/1% (Sorry but I can't remember which) in crucible, and done a lot in year 2 as well, which is something he couldn't even do with communication. I haven't beaten kings fall yet. I've only gotten to the Warpriest, but I've put in time and research to learn as much as possible. So, I lose another week's worth of possible raiding because of a bratty teen. This is probably an obvious question but has this happened to anyone else?
Edit1: Considering doing a test, by plugging in my kinect and muting it, just to see if it's the little symbol that matters.
Edit2: Ok, well, people seem to be agreeing with the other guy, considering this was just a way of releasing anger, sooo..... Thanks for 554 anyways.
Edit3: To make everything clear, I'm not saying that I think he is wrong to get the host to kick me. I'm just saying that I don't appreciate the way he did it. I mean, if he asked I would have and just found another group.
Edit4: Honestly I wasn't expecting my drunken rant would get 800 replies. I guess this is a more controversial topic than I thought. Thanks for listening to my crap guys.
Edit5: Just to be clear, the host was a nice guy, it's just that the other kid wouldn't shut up till he kicked me.

Just buy a mic and stop being a stubborn fuсk about it if you want the raid done.
-
I'm gonna level with u. Yes you need a mic to play that raid. No he shouldn't have reacted and cursed u out like that.
-
Honestly, you can run with people without a mic, but it takes way to long If their even average. The raid takes lots of communication especially if the team is fairly new to it.
-
I don't mind players without a mic, as long as you hear & understand me and/or strategy.
-
Just get a mic friend. You won't get kicked for not having one ever again.
-
I never boot anyone just for not having a mic. I keep an eye and if they seem to know what they're doing then what's the harm? My first oryx clear there was guy in the fireteam without one and he was fine At the end of the day most of the raid is just stand in a bubble and shoot
-
Just sums up the Xbox community innit...
xbox is crap
-
Do yourself a favor and just leave as soon as you hear a bag of baby dicks squealing.
-
I prefer everyone I raid with to have a mic. If I knew you didn't, your jobs would be add control while opening the entrance, dps or add control for Golgoroth, and add control for Oryx (you'd get a plate if someone dies). Being able to speak during this raid is much more necessary compared to any other endgame activity asides from Skolas. Not saying you can't do it, but if your joining inexperienced teams who are still working on the mechanics then you will most likely be kicked.
-
Mic is pretty much required in raid to know who's doing what so if you don't have one, well tough shit
-
Editado por Blanks: 9/30/2015 2:25:33 PMIn the future you should mention that you don't have a mic People expect mics in the raid and it's courtesy to mention it in the message or on the forum. I don't condone how the kid reacted but I can see the frustration of wasting the time inviting you and all when it could have been avoided. That being said, give it a few more weeks for everyone to get the hang of the raid and feel comfortable enough to take a silent guardian along. Or, join a no mic clan.
-
Need a mic scrub, people need to communicate in this raid ALOT!
-
You need a mic man. No matter how good you are. None of the random people you were playing with knew that
-
Editado por XxnatonxX: 9/29/2015 9:16:29 PMI stopped at "didn't have a mic", let's get something straight, not a single person has to put up with you being an unsociable knob.
-
I don't have a problem with it if you are doing what you are supposed to. I had a guy at warpriest, and he kept standing on the left side plate too early or too late. We even told him to not to stand on it, and he still would. That's what got him kicked
-
Just out of curiosity: what is the reason that you do not want to talk?
-
Honestly, I wouldn't play with you either. I like to know who I'm going into a raid with before I get to something that requires communication. The problem surfaced when you do something and we won't know until we wipe and you pull out your little messenger thing and type it out. Just talk. <3 c:

People want communication. Just buy a mic they cost like £10
-
I always state must have mic.. Raids are frustrating enough with randoms without having to struggle cummunicating
-
Bro get a mic lol. Actually how do you not have one? They come with your console. I'd kick you to. I don't want to play with someone who isn't talking. Go by a cheap one. You have all this money to buy every DLC but not a mic?
-
Xbox comes with a mic
-
Ran a kings fall last night with a gentleman who did not have a mic, ran it all the way to death singers. He worked out great. He was in charge of getting gorgoroths agro did it with no problems. Note this was his first run through kings fall... I feel like people miss the point of communication, you don't need to talk to communicate, as long as the team is aware and can help compensate it's fine. Kinda funny aswell when everyone else is talking and you just see him start dancing to acknowledge he understands
-
I wouldn't care usually I wave or dance to show what do if the other guy doesn't have a mic most people watch YouTube or twitch so I would think they know
-
what do you expect then? lmao that raid needs team work
-
Just buy a cheap one problem solved

4 RespostasI think the problem would be people have NO IDEA your level of skill. They have to hope that you know what you're doing and at the same time as them and if you are on the same page. What about Skolas? How can you no-mic the infection shit without telling people when to take it effectively? Mics matter. You may be able to solo many things and have decent skill, but not having a mic in a teamwork environment like that inarguably makes things harder.
