So the question is in the title, I haven't used a fusion rifle for quite a while in the crucible and I want to know if anyone still uses them or has tried them out lately.
Edit: Specifically does the fast charge time on plan c after you change weapon make it viable?
That's all, thanks

4 RespostasIf you come across a shotgun blinker you're screwed, fusions lack range not to mention its charge up rate, and if you miss a shot...good luck charging up on the next one before you are destroyed by a shottie. Truth is, FR's needed the nerf but not to this extent. Reducing the range but ALSO widening the cone is just TOO much. Plus they overlooked the fact that Pocket infinity is an auto rifle so it randomly chews through ammo, essentially making this gun useless in both pve and pvp. WTH is wrong with Bungie that they can't balance weapons correctly? They seriously go to extremes with the tweaking, nerf things a little bit first so you can test it...not completely and utterly destroying a weapon!

1 ResponderIf used with icarus and and angel of light, long range fusions are very effective

Praetorian foil :)

Fusion rifles can be the perfect counter to shot guns I found the range on them kill off some shotguns the one I use at least

I use my Perun's fire. Fastest charging fusion rifle I've seen. It destroys everything if you know how to use it properly. -

1 ResponderFusion rifle range has been nerfed so much that when you're facing a shotgunner at your max effective fusion range, a single Blink or slide will bring them close enough to kill you. Also, fusions don't kill instantly which is a huge disadvantage. You can land a perfect shot on a shotgunner rushing you, but he'll still have a split second to kill you instantly with his shotgun causing the rest of the bolts to not fire.

It used to be the only thing I ever used...I was a beast with the fusions back in the day. Now, sadly all my fusion rifles have collected nothing but dust and the shotgun reigns supreme.
-
Fusions were so good. They had way too much range but the damage was fine. If they would have needed range instead of spread and damage, they'd be relevant. But they don't have the chance to outgun the instant shot shotguns. If it doesn't have hipfire, accelerated coils, and probably Icarus for the bonus accuracy, it's not worth using.

6 RespostasMy friend used pocket infinity in trials last weekend. I don't know if it was psychological, throwing the enemies off by facing something that's not exotic hand cannon and shotgun, but he wrecked. I couldn't believe how well it worked.

Editado por Void: 7/1/2015 3:31:44 PMNot worth using. Having maxed out stability counteracts the cone spread nerf a lot but it's still just a glimpse of their former glory. Anything less than max stability and the cone spread is so wide you might as well use a shotgun. They went from being excellent special weapons for engagements outside of shotgun range to now only being effective in shotgun range where it's obviously outperformed by shotguns. My Purifier with max stability still performs decent outside of shotgun range but only due to its stability, without having perfect balance on its spread becomes too wide to really be a solid secondary. As for the Plan C I wouldn't recommend using it anymore. Due to its stability the cone spread is very wide and you'll miss a lot of pellets. You can near max its stability but you'll have to sacrifice impact, 2dmg per pellet I believe. In my experience the exotic perk also doesn't activate on many occasions. Also I wouldn't recommend using accelerated coils on any fusion rifle because it lowers the impact by a very significant amount. The Plan C for example goes from 49 per pellet to 44 I believe.

Pre nerf usable and very enjoyable. Post nerf a joke compared to top flight shotties

I love the Exile's Curse! (ToO fusion rifle) Use it all the time on small maps, and snipers on big maps. Never shotguns..
-
They suck, you have to get into shotgun range (which really shouldnt be shotgun range), so you lose b/c shotguns dont have to "charge"
-
The range was nerfed so now they're useless
-
1 ResponderI can't hit a single round with those things and I don't think my aim is that bad. I get in pretty close but the cone seems to go around them to the point I have to aim at their feet so the top portion of the cone hits.

4 RespostasI think they all need a buff to charge time in order to complete with shotguns.

1 ResponderI've got an old The Calming and it tears through people

1 ResponderThey still work pretty well but nobody uses them

Dat insta-charge from plan c...

3 RespostasIt depends. Fusion rifles definitely take some time to get used to, but once you do they are pretty awesome. Plan C is definitely very good, I love using it. With hammer forged the range is amazing

2 RespostasI always use fusion rifles for PvP... I use pocket or even Plug One.1 or others with "high impact and accelerated coils with insane stability and range". These wreck if you know how to use them. Anticipation and baiting is key and aiming for the lower torso will guarantee a kill as the recoil will bring the rest of the beams from the fusion and will hit the rest of the upper body. Just some basic tips on how to use and what to look for in Fusions

2 RespostasFusion rifles are a no no

1 ResponderUhm if used correctly they kick ass. But usually they get out gunned by Thorn, last word, red death and , All felwinter variants,
