I had around 1200 weapon parts when HoW dropped. I rerolled my shotgun and sniper so many times spec I finally got the spec i wanted with around 15 weapon parts left. That was 1 character. I have 3, each with their own weapons. I don't even want to level their weapons because i wish to reroll em when I do get weapon parts. However, i find myself burnt out on grinding weapon parts. Farming for 3 hours just to get 20 or so weapon parts is a giant waste of time. I already know a few people in the same situation who are so discouraged that they dont even play the game much anymore. And I must say, I find myself approaching the same feeling. We can get every other material in the game fore exchange except weapon parts (and class corresponding armor parts), so what gives? I'd happily echange a mote of light for 5 weapon parts right now a few dozen times.
