Disagree with your pulse rifles point. I use them almost exclusively now and the very high rate of fire/low impact ones such as the timepiece and the new fallen one (don't have the crota one) can perform just as well as red death and the hard hitting ones with proper aim.

The Crota one is absolutely wretched. Don't get me wrong, I like pulse rifles, they're my second favorite primary gun type, but the Crota pulse rifle, Oversoul Edict, is absolutely terrible.

Yeah like I said I don't have it so I can't comment on it, but the timepiece from the VoG is a very strong weapon
