I agree there is no slash but if you're ever asked for a date on anything you need month day and year just because using month and date have become common practice does not mean it is correct sorry brah

Many wikis are monitored for errors and/or locked so the wiki point is invalid as with mm/dd being used do your research and educate yourself it's called a calendar date and not a date format yes they are two separate things. So knock on me me using 9/11 as a porch but your attempting to pull shit out of your ass. On a side not 9/11 as a memorial date is only significant in the USA not everyone knows or cares about one nations "date" significance

First Wikipedia is only monitored if changes are to be made to a page it has nothing to do with making a wiki page. Yes it's call calendar format but it's also common place to be called date format. Next the attack is referred to as the 9/11 attack or just 9/11 so as I said it is absolutely proper form. Finally that day is know world wide as is shook the entire trading community. The only countries who don't know are third world countries who it didn't effect. When that event was single handedly responsible for starting not only the second Persian Gulf war but also the afganistan conflict it's pretty well known world wide.
