I have the song of ir yut, don't have a thunderlord. Is it worth xurning it, or should I save my coins?
Edit: thanks a lot guys for all your input. Definitely going to use some coins tonight!

Thunderlord

7 RespostasI don't even like thunder lord tbh, it seems like a waste of an exotic slot
-
Unless your aiming at a hive knight with his shield up its thunderlord.
-
1 ResponderSong of Ir Yut is the Atheon's Epilogue of machine guns.
-
no you should totally keep Song of Ir Yut trust me.

Better than the song

5 RespostasNothing wrecks arc burn like thunderlord.

Never worry about saving coins. They are very easy to get. When xur sold gjallarhorn I though a heavy exotic was stupid and I would rather save my coins. Little did I know gjallarhorn was awesome and coins were common.

Song can carry about 100 more rounds and you don't have to wait for the build up of rapid fire. I think it's faster than SGA. Biggest thing is freeing up the exotic slot.
-
1 ResponderThey shouldn't even be called the same weapon type. Thunderlord=Chuck Norris Song of it yut= Chucky cheeses
-
If anything buy it for the Grimoire. It's one of the best weapons for sure. Especially for Arc Burn...
-
I have both and use both. Thunderlord is great and I used it very often after it dropped. Honestly, doesn't get used as much lately but it is NEVER not on my character.
-
No question it's Thunderlord. The Song is only a remotely viable option when fighting hive

I remember the first week of destiny. The first nightfall was the Devils lair with arc burn. I ran into a 27 and 28 in a strike and we decided to try it out, it was rare to see 27 and 28s at that time. Anyway I was using thunderlord, I had got it from a blue engram earlier in the week. The guy kept saying what in the world are you using I want that. Not even to side with deej but, the thing is an absolute monster it doesn't get enough credit that it deserves. In both pve and pvp.

If you do not buy Thunderlord this weekend and do not already have it, you will regret it. Earned, Xurned, whatever. It doesn't matter how you pick this beasty up, so long as you can count it among your arsenal.
-
Neither. Jolder's Hammer FTW!
-
I'm going to level up both of them, the song is a great weapon, it also frees up a expotic slot.
-
I just use Song for when there are a lot of Hive Knights (like all the way up to Omnigul) or Phogoth
-
1 ResponderWhy not both? Fang is legendary thus leaving your exotic slot open and thunderlord is beastly.

4 RespostasThunderlord = Exotic Arc damage Jolder's Hammer (with guaranteed rolls and a slightly bigger magazine w/Field Scout). For ARC Burn vs. Hive, Song of Ir Yut (maybe, if you wan't to use a different exotic). For ARC anything else, Thunderlord w/legendary Sniper. For strikes against Fallen, Thunderlord rolls over captains (Arc Shields). In general I usually use neither of these lately as my generic rollout: Fallen/Hive: Raid Elemental Damage Secondary "To be determined" (Sniper/ShotGun depending) Legendary Heavy Exotic weapons are situational, and after you've built up a good selection of legendaries, much like armor, your "goto" set becomes Legendary, with exotics coming out to fill in the mix. tl;dr: If the choice is Song of Ir Yut or Thunderlord, then buy Thunderlord and you'll be happy (but be switching back to SoIY if you want to use another exotic).

1 ResponderWhy is this a question?
