Unpopular Opinion: All D1 supers, exotic armors, and exotic weapons need to come back

Why not just play D1?
Why not just play D1?
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but much of D1 is already in D2. Why not bring the rest? If it’s as much of a beloved game as everyone claims, then why not?

Because that was D1, this is D2 the SEQUAL, not D1.2 the repeat..
Because that was D1, this is D2 the SEQUAL, not D1.2 the repeat..
But it was originally supposed to be one world and one game. Not two. We are going to have D1 strikes, already have D1 crucible maps, D1 bosses in Nightmare form, D1 legendary weapons, D1 legendary armor, D1 exotic armor, D1 exotic weapons, D1 locations, and some D1 supers. Again, why not bring everything into one game? Plenty of successful sequels bring stuff if not most stuff from the original.

D1 is limited to 4 consoles. D2 is largely accessible by being free to play and pc + stadia. Many of the things in D1 are great and sharing to others the expriance of those things would be great.

Great points, but they are secondary reasons. Everything he mentioned is accessible now in D1, the game is still running and people still play it. Unless he plays it on PC, I don't see a big issue by just jumping back in D1 for the reasons he mentioned.

I could just jump onto D1 myself but (I cannot speak for him) I would rather see what potential they could do to these weapons on D2 via the masterwork system and I have had my exact fill of playing D1. It also has a weird gravitational pull to play D2 over D1 because I know the game will be kept supported with updates. It is an... intuitive feeling.

Not much by the looks of it, I mean we already have some D1 weapons with catalysts in D2. +10 stat enhancement on stability, range or whatever. I say let them stay in D1 where they shine and keep D1 in D1. True innovation is taking an idea and going further than before like they did with riskrunner and crimson, that is what I rather see.

If they give returning destinations the moon treatment, you will not be hearing me complain: - Introduced 4 new lost sectors - Added a dungeon + gorgeous red keep and nice elevator music - Introduced repeatable key fights from D1 to inform us w/o the need to buy D1 The DCV is their answer to bring a fusion of D1 and D2. There is a hope they can pull it off, while they expand on the RPG systems they have and are introducing.

I rather have the plaguelands treatment they gave to the cosmodrone during ROI. They took a small portion of what was and expanded it into new territory. The fallen even changed enough to get a fresh feeling when fighting them compared to red paintjobs the hive got in SK. The only plus o give you is the dungeon which is unique, fighting old bosses however is cool in the beginning but get's boring really fast. Not to be a dick, but Bungie can expand the universe imensly with creativity if people didn't settle down for little changes like you mentioned. It could be a truly evolving world if we let it evolve to the next stages instead of mediocre steps inbetween. I mean are you more hyped for the cosmodrone coming back or the new planet Europa?

Plague lands was a very nice looking area. - Cutting of 2 places from the normal Cosmodrone - Making 4 new main areas - a very fun side activity - Siva + Snow covered areas All of it was pretty nice and spectacle to the eyes. I enjoyed it enough to get 29,952 (Tracker book rise of iron) kills there before the tasks to do within and playing the game got boring. To be honest I do not care about either destinations you mentioned. How we interact with planets as a whole is boring half the time. I am so tired of seeing the same public events pasted everywhere and patrols are just un-eventful (at the very least they bring back the sparrow one). Me hopes they will change the planetary economy going forward, since these new places could potentially also be on a timer. As it stands only the art team will get praise from me, if all we do is collect a ''new resource'' and take part in lazily crafted public events. They had a semi-right idea in my mind for the moon but the execution for the acquisition of rewards is still too stingy. Made me praise the artwork but not the viability of the weapons.
