And that's because bungie doesn't even play their own game. So of course they just look at numbers on a chart and hammer things that look wrong.
And if read the second half of my comment, you'd realize why you're seeing a big influx of void users.
The exotic that was released at the start of the season was just re enabled and the lost sector that you can get it from was in rotation 2 days ago. Of course you'll see a bunch of people trying the new toy.
And overused does not mean overpowered. If you're trying to complain about the new exotic, it's mid at best. The damage increase is only being used because linears are out of control right now. It gives the same damage buff as radiant. That's a non issue
And that's because bungie doesn't even play their own game. So of course they just look at numbers on a chart and hammer things that look wrong.
I'm sure Bungie plays their game (they at least say they do, allegedly), but if you balance through playing alone, then you're going to be balancing based on biases and not hard data. I'd rather nerfs based on overusage according to stats than a dev not liking something.
And if read the second half of my comment, you'd realize why you're seeing a big influx of void users. The exotic that was released at the start of the season was just re enabled and the lost sector that you can get it from was in rotation 2 days ago. Of course you'll see a bunch of people trying the new toy.
I did, you're just incorrect. People still crutched invis with Omni even after the nerf (because it's still OP with infinite smoke and free DR), along with Geminis and Wormhusk. Bad players will stay bad clinging to their OP crutches, it's how it is. Nightstalker usage just increased a lot recently because an even more OP, crutch exotic got enabled for them to abuse with LFRs and sidearms now. Bad players staying bad, as usual.
And overused does not mean overpowered. If you're trying to complain about the new exotic, it's mid at best. The damage increase is only being used because linears are out of control right now. It gives the same damage buff as radiant. That's a non issue
Again, this is completely wrong. If there wasn't a lopsided balancing dynamic, people wouldn't rush to use it. Proctor's philosophy on this is 100% correct and we saw it with every single meta ever in Destiny history. TLW/Thorn, OEM, Wormhusk, Dodge disabling all tracking, Omni + LoW, LoW in general, Lorentz/Arbalest, etc....... Bad players rush to use OP things because they need something to crutch, and it needs to be brought in line. Also, Gryfalcon's is a 15% damage buff and Radiant is a 10% damage buff. It's better than Radiance in PvP and PvE. Falcon's is a 30% damage buff in PvE iirc. You're also wrong about why it's being used. Free damage of ANY kind is hilariously broken and good, not just with LFRs, so this is why it's being spammed so hard on top of an already oppressive ability. Bungie completely removed Sunspot's free damage increase from Sun Warrior because they didn't like free damage buffs in PvP, then does the same thing but with Invis lmao. Their idea of "balancing" is a joke.

The sun spot damage was a problem because it was on reaction with healing at any time with basically no cooldown. Someone shot you and as a result you get restoration, sunspot healing, and a damage buff. Just for being shot. You aren't gonna listen to me on this because apparently you've got a massive problem dealing with invis. But yeah the increase in users is because everyone got access to the new exotic. The only problem with it is that it's allowing linears to 1 bang on the body, but thats not the exotics fault. That's the LR fault.
-
You aren't gonna listen to me on this because apparently you've got a massive problem dealing with invis.
Nope. I just don't like bad metas dictated by bad players such as yourself who defend skilless ability crutches and not gunplay.
The only problem with it is that it's allowing linears to 1 bang on the body, but thats not the exotics fault. That's the LR fault.
Free damage for going invis is broken and has no place in PvP, period. I guarantee you were one of the people crying about Loreley but here you are defending Gryfalcon's even BETTER damage buff, once again for free. Hunter crutch bias confirmed.

Gunslinger dude. Always have been. I just don't have a problem against invis like you seem to. It seems like you just want all abilities gone until it's guns only. Nothing wrong with that either, but thats not how the game is. They could normalize the damage down to 10% to keep it the same as everything else. But regardless it's still not an issue after the fact, not that it even is now. But you keep going if it's what you want. Invis is as simple as pay attention. They still have AA on them, you can hear them, they show on radar, you see their special weapon light anyway, they aren't invis the moment they fight back either. But hey, apparently that's not enough for ya.
Gunslinger dude. Always have been.
Okay? I don't really care what you use because it's not relevant to anything I said. Gunslinger = skillless radiance throwing knife spam anyways. Even worse with Ahamkara's.
I just don't have a problem against invis like you seem to. It seems like you just want all abilities gone until it's guns only. Nothing wrong with that either, but thats not how the game is.
You don't have a problem because you know if invis gets nerfed, whatever other abilities you happen to crutch are in the crossfire too. That's why you sadly defend it so hard despite it objectively being an easy crutch that bad players abuse. It's also sad that you assume the extreme end of what I am saying. I don't want no abilities, I just don't want overshield, invis, throwing knife, grenade, melee spam every since gunfight I get in that bad players need to barely keep them above water.
They could normalize the damage down to 10% to keep it the same as everything else. But regardless it's still not an issue after the fact, not that it even is now.
Nope, this is wrong. It needs to be removed in PvP entirely. Either other classes get free damage buffs on demand, or nobody does. Loreley's nerfs and Sunspot's nerf should be undone if Bungie wants to immediately renege on their past statements.
But you keep going if it's what you want. Invis is as simple as pay attention. They still have AA on them, you can hear them, they show on radar, you see their special weapon light anyway, they aren't invis the moment they fight back either. But hey, apparently that's not enough for ya.
Or... hear me out. They get in a normal gunfight without crutching off-radar and out of sight while ratting in a corner or with a fusion rifle/shotgun/LFR. Or maybe actually improve at the game and not crutch their abilities to win. Amazing concepts, I know. But hey, apparently that's not enough for ya.

You have MAJOR problems playing destiny if abilities are driving you this insane. Might I suggest another game like CoD?
-
Might I suggest another game like CoD?
White flag "argument" lol. Try again next time, invis crutch defender.
-
Alright. Keep dying to it instead of paying attention then. Have a nice Halloween

Edited by Desolator0: 10/31/2022 12:41:57 AMYou can't successfully defend your embarrassing crutches anymore so you bail. Typical lol. FYI: I beat top 500 players in Trials who crutched invis just last night. Feel free to look up my past games, it's all public. Some of them even streamed it live. Your pathetic gotcha fails once again. It isn't a me problem bud, I just don't like skillless ability crutches and bad metas.

This is nothing but a ‘yeah… but…’ bunch of nothing attempt at deflecting his point. Bungie actively said damage buffs on demand in PvP were problematic (sun warrior) and went exactly the opposite direction of this statement with radiant dodge and now gyrfalcons (gyrfalcons even more so because invis is already the most used PvP kit by a LOT). It’s a perfectly well founded concern on the balance topic… and what I find interesting is that no one ever really argues that it is balanced but mostly just point to other supposedly problematic kits/playstyles.
-
It could use a normalization to 10% damage increase to be in line with everything else. Other than that it's not a problem
-
That’s all fine and good… but it still doesn’t address the argument of why a damage boost on demand for one class is problematic but not on another?
-
He's biased in favor of Hunters (the easiest PvP class in the game), don't waste your time.

Edited by iidaptive: 10/31/2022 5:09:59 PMMany would say titans the easiest class in the game. There’s a reason it’s been pointless to go into trials without a bubble Titan especially in zone. That was last season before thundercrash titans were everywhere with storm nades. Shoot even before the 3.0 revamps Behemoth Titans were very good. I hate invis too but invis is just super gimmicky while titans are just plain strong and the fastest class somehow ? Only class that can abuse overshields like void titans do, Only arc class healing on every base melee kill with zero ability involved, juggernaut shield, Infinite spamming mobility with shoulder charge.. ballistic slam is just stupid, list could go on Nvm you’re biased anyway to titans so these things seem fair to you maybe but they’re about as fair as invis
-
Nvm you’re biased anyway to titans so these things seem fair to you maybe but they’re about as fair as invis
All you did was pull out typical whataboutism and changed the topic, as usual. I'm not going to waste my time addressing what you wrote.
-
Lol I wasn’t gonna entertain an argument with you anyways wouldn’t matter what you said. This forum is just a cesspool of casual complainers who want everything and big egos who think they’re the sweatiest
-
It was a problem on Titans because of the extra bits it gave. Restoration and a sunspot for healing you can't interrupt, the damage increase was a bit high, and you got all of it for no cost. At all. People shot you and it just got dumped straight in your lap. Every class has access to something. Titans get access to overshileds. Warlocks get...... other things. Big sad for them. But every class wants what the others have. That's just how it works.
-
Lorelei didn't give restoration when it gave DMG buff. Sunspots got absolutely demolished. - deals almost no dmg - no dmg buff - less ability regen Meanwhile Lorelei used to give resto X2 (big pve crutch) but they took that away so now we are stuck with an exotic that lets u get a sunspot on demand without any extra benefits to it... Yay... This expansion year exotics for titans have been awful and more or less useless.
