In one of the new lore books for season of the risen Caital tells us that the Cabal have found Osiris’s body. Is this true or a lie from Savathun.
Edit: yeah turns out it is a lie from savathun

The vanguard missives are literally fake news distributed by Savathun and the Lucent Brood on Vanguard channels just so they distabilze the City’s leadership with doubt. It says do in the final page of the lore book.

the lore you’re referencing i believe is from different alternate realities, because on mars (as far as i’m aware) the past is still bleeding through to the present. this could also mean pasts from different timelines. as far as our osiris, he’s in a coma. he’s not dead… yet. so cross your fingers he wakes up soon!

The only entries from that lorebook without errors are the ones starting with the Hidden Encryption (i.e. Ikora I and Eris II) All the others contain mis-spellings (e.g. Cayde-8), double spaces, or incorrect information (Ikora confirming Osiris' identity: it was actually the Techeuns, as told to us at the end of last season). They are purposefully designed to sow distrust in multiple characters, sway us to Savathun's side leaving the Vanguard weak (e.g. Toland I), or try and persuade us to kill VIPs (e.g. Ikora and Zavala wanting each other removed, Caiatl telling us to 'deal with' our Osiris, Eris telling us to kill her)

1 ReplyHe’s chillin in the Tower in recovery mode. Sipping’ margaritas and telling jokes to the nurses.

I’ve read some theories online about the Martian Missives. Some say they were intercepted and messed with by Savuthun or an agent of hers. Hence the series typos. Others think they’re purposely wrong to force us to look at some see code hidden inside. Like in movies when someone is held hostage and pretend everything is alright and ask their friend to take care of their non existent dog

Nah, he’s just taking a nice long nap.

Depends on perspective. His body is alive and saint has it. However his soul was likely removed from it, similar to Ohmar and toland. Also the trailers did show a cutscene with Savathun possessing Osiris once again.

1 ReplyHopefully there is a way to get sagira her light back we have here shell maybe there is a possibility of getting her back so he can get his light back.

He’s dead. He’s serving as one of Savathun’s shades. Just like with Oryx, we’ll need to kill them all to make perma dead.

5 RepliesWe have Osiris body and he’s in recovery somewhere. saint 14 says this at some point

Edited by neonsox42: 3/2/2022 5:08:39 PMNah. I think that was one of the lies. Also Savathun is “dead” - truth. That just means that one of the other 2 is true and the other is a lie.

Honestly after reading this weeks quintessence chapter…… I think we might need to ask Toland.

No, just a vegetable

2 RepliesWell what happens to our Guardians bodies when our Ghosts resurrect us? Maybe they found a body of osiris. Maybe they don't always disappear. Imagine what the base of the Tower must look like! There must be piles of Guardian bodies down there, I bet its a main source of food for the people of the last city. I mean I haven't seen any crops or cattle, have you?

14 RepliesOsiris is dead (lie) Savathun is dead (truth) The witness birthed the darkness (?) Our destiny lies outside our system (?) I’ll bet our destiny does lie outside the system and the third one is a lie. The Final Shape or whatever comes after could have us go after the being that birthed the darkness and the traveler.

2 RepliesBased on the Martian Missives Lore Book, Caiatl says that Osiris is dead. Though there is always the possibility of it not being the real Osiris, as in the book they said “vivisected almost beyond recognition using Hive techniques and tools.” For the time being however, this is the only facts we have. Here’s the page from the book for reference with highlighted parts if you wish to read through it:

Degenerate fate casts us together once more, Guardian. How I have missed the thrill of pitting my Cabal against your unyielding tide of Lightbearers, truce or no. But it is in the spirit of Zavala's newfound truce that I offer you news delivered by my Cabal scouts. My forces recently recovered the remains of a Human male on Nessus, vivisected almost beyond recognition using Hive techniques and tools. Our science identifies the unfortunate as your Warden of the Infinite Forest, Osiris. While I will not divulge the details of our confirmation methodologies, rest assured they are thorough and accurate. This news no doubt will shock you, given that you are also in possession of another Osiris still clinging to life. But it is not him, despite the confirmation of his identity performed by Ikora Rey. Her admiration for her old mentor has already clouded her ability to recognize an imposter once, and it appears to have happened yet again. It is not custom among the Cabal to allow even a respected leader a 3rd chance to fail their people. I don't know what purpose the Witch Queen could have in giving you a comatose husk wearing your dead ally's face, or what threat he may become: a listening device, a future mole, a living bomb? But understand this: when Savathûn brought Xivu Arath to my doorstep, she did so wearing the mask of a trusted advisor. What you hold in your Tower is no treasure, and I have faith in you among your kind to handle this problem as a Cabal would.

Pages 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 have been tampered with by Savathûn. Pages 3 & 8 are untouched. Here's my explanation on what it could mean: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/260653169

4 RepliesEdited by LikwiD_SmOkE22: 3/2/2022 1:08:10 AMCaital has been pretty straight forward with us... but she hates the hive & may be seeking to deceive us. It's clear from dialogue savathun anticipated us killing her but now theres a ton of questions regarding him appearing at the end season of the lost. We really don't know much about Osiris and his reflections... is it possible that one escaped mercury before it was taken? Do we have a reflection? Or do we really have the real Osiris? I assume as the season progresses we will get more info. There isn't enough to go on right now in my opinon.
