Bungie this connection is the worst of any game ever and I played Unreal Tournament on dial up net back in the day so thats saying something. We have had enough you cant sit there and ignore the issue any longer. Iron Banner is normally the most fun mode but with 300 ping Asian lobbies with other regions randomly mixed in it is just not playable. Quite a few other people and myself have really good net and have been running tests and this game by far has a higher ping and tick rate than anything ever. Enough is enough I love this game and pvp but you are making a lot of my friends and even myself and i am sure many others think about stopping this game entirely cos the connection ruins it. Please Bungie fix it please we have wanted something better since D1 on console.

It's fine

I'm paraphrasing, but when asked why there are no dedicated servers, Bungie mentioned something about cross region issues, that player A in EU playing with player B in Tahiti would encounter connectivity issues, UNLESS Bungie somehow came up with the finances to place dedicated servers in each region of the world (this is just how I interpreted it). Dunno how true to form this is, but they've already said they would never, ever ever ever use dedicated servers b/c something about cost to benefit not adding up. This of course, is not referencing the hybrid servers they have for relevant content.

I have such a bad connection I can't play 6v6 without getting error coded

Because dedicated servers are gonna fix all lag issues right.

3 RepliesI highly doubt Bungie is going to change their networking architecture in the middle of D2. You can complain about this all you want, but if there is going to be any change, it most likely isn't going to happen until D3. 1 ReplyNow I'm no game designer but as I understand it to switch to dedicated servers theyd have to recode an absolutely insane amount of the game. This of course is still doable but with the sheer amount of time and money it'd cost I'd bet my life savings Destiny could go for another 7 years without changing to dedicated servers even though I'd love to be wrong

This is getting worse Bungie I literally watch laggy people from Asia walk at me in a straight line and take 0 damage at least get a local host for Australia to peer to this is the most half a$$ attempt at a online game connection I have ever seen.

3 RepliesDestiny is not like other games Bungie uses peer-to-peer (p2p) networking. Unlike most other games part of the game runs on your console or pc. So the game needs a very stable connection. So a member of your fireteam may have a bad connection so this ruins it for all of you. Being wif-fi or having a wired connection does not mean you have a good connection but being wired is a more stable connection and causes fewer issues.
