How about Bungie make bans transparent because im tired of players defending actual cheaters and name shaming shouldn't be a thing...

Because that opens the company up to possible litigation for allowing their players/former players to be harassed. There is no need for the public to know who was banned or restricted. It does nothing good but has potential for bad. If a player is reported is actually cheating then they will get banned.

Harassed? Are you serious? No other game does this... It's a gamer tag not a real name or personal information. I believe the real reason why is because the PC version would lose 1/3 of it's entire player base and they don't want to lose out on more $$$... Like I said be transparent with how many bans are made in a wave so players can grasp the severity of how bad cheating actually is. Hell almost every game I play on crucible on PC has at least 2 aim botters or some form of cheating (ESP / AHK).

Its stupid easy to pull someone’s info based off a gamer tag. Some players even have their full name on display on their profiles.

Edited by CodyNR: 5/4/2019 4:26:18 AMThen Bungie they should get rid of that from their profiles & not make that an option.

Profiles on XBL and PSN too. I don’t think you realize how easy it is to find information.

Most other games do not release player info. Gamertags can in fact be used to track some players in real life but even if not, it would open the players to in platform harassment.
Hell almost every game I play on crucible on PC has at least 2 aim botters or some form of cheating (ESP / AHK).
I have looked through your recent match history, there is no sign of aimbotting. No one is getting crazy high percents of headshot kills. AHK will get you banned, no report needed. There have been probably 5-6 this week alone that mentioned AHK scripts in their ban pleas. The odds are by far more likely that you are just going against higher skilled players than you are going against a cheat.

You can't tell signs of aimbotting unless you are actually in my games with me...

yes you can. Aimbots have higher crit accuracy, that is why people use them. No one uses one to be average.
