A) a lot of what you think cheating is in Destiny isn't actually cheating
B) those programs are meant to detect third party programs that affect the game experience, not lag switches

I've seen it done so many times, they red bar lag all over get a beast score then disable the switch so green then when I flatten them it's red bar again.
-
Another explanation for this is that a lot of players are on shared networks, both at home or in college. So when the wife or roommate starts streaming Dr. Phil or ZooPr0n (you determine who is doing which), the bandwidth is divided between two devices, and they dip down in connectivity. Depending on the routing setup and connection types, it can increase latency and reduce throughput to the console, possibly resulting in what the game would consider a double-dip of reduced connection. most players don't really notice it on their end, and probably have no idea it's even happening. I just report everyone that has a red bar in general. Maybe if they eventually get a soft ban for bad connection, they'll look into their network.

I've won with red bar many times before i got an ethernet cable. This game just supports lag more than others do. They need to make harsher rules on laggers. Boot a player the second their bar shows red. Idk, something

No. Again, not nearly as much of that is cheating as you think.
-
Explain?

Nobody is using an inject with esp or aimbot in destiny. If you tried to mod the console to even accept something like that it would be detected immediately and you would likely be banned from XBL or PSN forever. The problem is the matchmaking.
-
Yea I know if someone was aimbot in it'd be fairly obvious but still awareness to this kind of crap.
-
Most of it is just a problem with Bungie servers. I promise you.
-
Most of it isn't bungie servers... Crucible is p2p so we are the servers. The problem is their netcode trying to aid the lowest common denominator and trying to nullify their poor connectivity, thus makes them godly as opposed to the way it should be (like in every other game)- you lag and your experience is degraded rather than those of us with great connections having the worst experience. Bungie time and time again rewards the worst- laggers, finish last in matches and get the best rewards, etc etc I tanked matches last night on my warlock and finally got gauntlets and legendary drops as opposed to nothing or a mote of light for finishing first. Pathetic all around

Dude I know the difference from normal lag and someone being invincible jeez

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just venting. Last night was utter crap playing red bars. Still salty from the "fun"
