Hello fellow Guardians,
Well here we are 2 days from the April update and as we wait for it to drop, we have a new episode of the #destinytruthcast to discuss the last week and Bungie's lastest live stream on Sandbox and Crucible changes.
This week we have another 3 new guests from the forums. Joining us are RedWingGirl1999, BigTexB007 and the one and only Kabr (finally). I want to thank each of them again for taking the time to come on tonight and share their views on Destiny and this latest round of changes. When we started the #dtc and had the idea of what we wanted it to be with new fresh views from here in our own community coming on to talk Destiny, I could not have hoped for how awesome everyone has been.
We've not only had players form both systems able to come on, but with BigTex We were able to not only meet and bring on the podcast someone that we met in a previous #dtc discussion thread, we've been able to become friends in game and now run crucible together.
This is such an awesome community despite the bad rep the bnet forums tend to get and I think we as a communtiy and Bungie as a developer have really started to make inroads into bridging the divide that developed between us after Destiny launched.
Again, we appreciate anyone who wants to take time to listen to the podcast and we aprreciate all your thoughts on the topics we discuss in the comments below. As always this podcast is here to try to give everyday community members an opportunity to share your voice and opinions on a (slightly) bigger stage and to get to know each other a bit better. If you want to participate, you can do so both through discussing issues and the game with us on the forums as well as letting us know if you're interested in coming on to guest in a future episode.

3 RepliesThe issue of OMM, while not a topic in this podcast, is near and dear to my gamer heart. It was THE issue that pulled me into the forums; the first issue I ever posted on. So, I'm just gonna put this here because it pisses me off. Deej quote from almost a year ago on the topic on MM: “You have my personal assurances that the design teams know you want it. They’ve seen the conversation.” He went on to clarify that Bungie hoped the lack of matchmaking in modes such as the Prison of Elders would encourage players to seek out personal relationships with others, and take matchmaking 'into their own hands.'” No. That's a straight-up lie. The lack of OMM reflects two things: 1. A form of time-gating, because OMM would greatly increase the speed with which people would acquire gear and level up ([b]only to realize there's little meaningful content[/b]); and 2. The financial relationships between Bungie, third-party LFG sites, and their advertisers.

2 RepliesI found it funny how y'all kept mentioning how Bungie can't seem to figure out how to code PvE separate of PvP yet none of y'all remember how they buffed shotguns by 100% only in PvE. They are capable of separating them they just chose not to

For the folks that aren't going to listen or don't have time: [b]TL;DR/ CliffNotes[/b] - Suros focused fire will be the king of the new meta - comment during twitch about PvP and PvE being considered together by design team was BS, they only care about PvP and probably cannot at this point pay for coding to separate them now - yay pulse and fusion rifle buffs, handcannon ammo buff - sniper nerfs are the wrong kind... should have been a stagger or descope mechanic while taking fire - sniper meta will NOT go away (considering MIDA will also be max range) and HITBOXES are still broken - sniper ammo nerfs SCREW over the raids, can't move around to get ammo without allowing a wipe mechanic (and another example of PvP nerfs screwing PvE... despite the supposed global design synergy intended) - special weapons have been unbalanced since first sandbox change with shotguns, its not a problem of too much ammo being available - no reason for heavy weapon ammo nerf, steady use per graph provided BY BUNGIE, and more Jon Wiesnewski manipulation for nothing - revive overshield nerf likely to promote res-kills from ALL weapon types, not just snipers... but is it just in Trials or all game modes? - TLW hip fire damage nerf unnecessary and makes the gun useless, will be dominated by shotgun/fusion rifle + melee now - Voidwalker buffs... probably won't mean much? Will need to play them to see. - Bungie must have called up Remington and Scotch-Brite and said: "We need moar bullets and moar sponges and we need them now!" - mixed feelings on sunsingers not being nerfed... good move for class? bungie copout? [b]Thanks guys![/b] This was much better than Bungie's twitch. Keep up the good work and mix it up with both positive and negative viewpoints.

It's nice when bungie does something good for a change. Even if it's not everything we wanted, and some things we certainly did NOT, I'll take what I can get, when I can get it. Thanks for this one, Bungie. [spoiler]But, I guarantee, if the nerfs to special and heavy weapon ammo gets in the way - even once! - this tune will take on a much darker tone.[/spoiler]

4 RepliesThank you for having me on. It's encouraging to hear people talk about this game without getting so upset like we read here in the forums so often. Perhaps the Bungie team over time can look forward to these podcasts as well to listen to some in the community discuss their concerns, ideas and or give praise where it's due. With each new guest, a new perspective is presented and that only benefits all of us. Again, thank you for having me on. Everyone was really nice and I enjoyed listening to everyone's opinions. =)

1 ReplyI actually listened to this one!!! It was a good discussion. Many good points and a few that Bungie could us, especially that very logical point regarding replacing hand canon ammo but making the very same mistake with heavy and special, great insight I had not thought about it that way. Of course the doctrine nerf was also completely unnecessary and the group's points to that end were very good. Wouldn't mind even participating at some point. It is nice to have respectful, and insightful dialogue on this game instead of the constant stream of vitriol we see in the forums. I await tomorrow with trepidation, some things good others concern me greatly. Bungie should really tune in.
