Is there actual lag switching going on? [b][i]OR[/i][/b], is this just the typical FPS crowd blaming every lag-related death on cheating because they don't know what lag switching really is?

This haha. Be on the receiving end of the old 187 group on gears of war, and you'll know what lag switching is.

How about both? I know both, and see both daily. The latent lag is pretty terrible and sucks a lot of fun out of the experience. This it's what most of these complaints are about. Lag switchers are way less common than complained about but still are around.

I'm going for the second one. One of my old friends got on destiny today for the 1st time in 2 months. We go into iron banner and we lag. After 2min I got a message that I was lag switching. That dude was so sure of himself. I couldn't even kill with a primary that match. Such a horrible experience that my friend left right after and I was back to green but came in lobby's with a whole bunch of red and yellow.
