It’s a new Microsoft account. I unlinked my old Microsoft account from steam a couple years ago when I had to get rid of that Microsoft account due to security reasons.

Hi again, The Xbox account linked to your Bungie profile appears to have been in use for many years, and has been part of your existing Cross Save setup for several years as well. Further, on [url=https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/35597981889300-Notice-Bungie-net-Account-Unlinking-Update-on-March-25-2025]March 25th[/url], it became impossible to unlink platform accounts with the exception of Twitch. Thus, there is indeed a possibility that an incorrect platform account is being logged in to, whether it's Xbox or Steam. When it comes to Steam, please ensure you're logging in to the correct Steam ID as well.

So basically with a new Microsoft account since my old Microsoft account was linked im not gonna be able to link my new Microsoft account and have to start completely new?

Hi again, Your Cross Save setup is such that your Steam account is your Active Account, meaning your Steam progress is what you see across all linked platforms, namely Xbox. If you're able to log in to the linked Xbox account, you should have no trouble continuing where you left off. You can also log in via Steam to access the same characters and progress on their original platform. With respect to possibly linking a new Xbox account to your Bungie profile, you will not be able to do so as the old account is already linked, and cannot be unlinked.
