I own a larger version of your same model. I play Destiny pretty often and no burn in. Do you have pixel orbiter enabled? Have you tried the screen wipe for a hour? Maybe you just got a faulty TV. To all the folks giving him grief for getting a plasma, they have advantages and disadvantages: Burn in is non-existent for newer plasmas, black levels are amazing and they tend to be 240hz standard. But, they are heavy, much thicker than lcd/led and are being phased out which probably means they'll become harder to repair as parts become slimmer.

  • New plasma can burn as well. Bought mine last year and it would start to retain static images after 20 minutes. Had to let it go. Was a beautiful TV though!

  • Sorry, I shouldn't have said non-existent. I did mean to put almost non-existent. I did want to ask if the only thing he really does on his tv is play destiny. My tv gets a lot of use, but it is always in bursts. A few hours of destiny, watch a tv show, play another game and back to destiny.

  • I thought newer Plasma TVs came with a self heal. So any burn in would subside after a while.

It may work to some degree but unfortunately when you run the self heal function (you will need to quite often given how quickly you can develop image retention from game menus) it shaves time off of the TVs life and eventually degrades the picture quality. The self heal is a solid white screen that forces the phosphors in the panel to burn at full intensity for hours at a time. Pixel orbiter did not prevent my burn in sadly. Some people seem to have better luck than others with burn in. In my experience I went through 2 Panasonic units and had the same issue so I switched back to LED.

  • Indeed. I have a Samsung Plasma one of the better models. I have had burn in that healed after sometime.
