Not true. I had a 6 month old Samsung F8500 (pretty much the best plasma you can still buy these days) and experienced burn in. Ultimately got rid of it for a new 4K set and haven't had any problems since.
The OP is right to warn plasma owners...they need to be extra careful when playing Destiny.
P.S. The F8500 had a better picture overall. I miss it.
