Thanks for the ADVICE! Goodbye to my Young Girlfriend!!
So, I am back.. As you may have read about my situation already about having to make a decision between Gaming and my Girlfriend... To refresh your memory or if you may not know yet, I had to make a decision to either be with my girlfriend or stop grinding Destiny (Full story here http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/93198637/0/0)
Today I decided to let her leave my house as I couldn't take drama any more, she asks me to cut back time on Destiny which I feel I'll be losing out... I work full time and use all my time to play because just like everybody else I want Icebreakers, MIDA Tools and Fatebringers!
So to me it seemed selfish of her to ask me to stop playing so much to spend time with her.... As I work hard at work everyday and bring home money, rent and putting food on the table she should show a little more respect and gratitude towards me. It seems as if she takes me for granted and wants more and more from me. So I've decided to let her go because no way in hell would I give up my gaming for her.. Ungrateful woman I must say but anyway I do want to thank you people for all the advice on my other thread! It really helped.
Good riddance to her.

1 RispondiThe only thing about the game my girlfriend and I fight about is whose turn it is. I mean, not all girlfriends are going to be that cool, but breaking up with a girl because she just wants to spend time with you a bit more is a childish in my opinion.

Luckily for me, my wife also plays. Used to play a lot of NHL, she didn't like it. I bought her a tv, system, game, dlc, she plays with me now when we have time (usually after kids are in bed). I have a 32 hunter and one piece away from 32 on my Titan and warlock. She has a 32 warlock and a 32 hunter, working on 29 titan. Maybe, if she is remotely in to gaming, you could bring her in to your world?

I enjoy playing games and have for many years but this is only a game. A temporary one. You may become a legend in destiny but you may have just made a terrible mistake. One you'll be kicking yourself for when you realize it down the road.

Bro. Your heads in the right place but you handled it wrong. The fact is, most girls will have the exact same reaction to you playing video games. You have to finesse your way out of those situations. Let her know it's your downtime hobby and make deals with her. Like sat and sun mornings you "need time to yourself". Video games have been in my life for a lot longer than any woman has. But to be honest I play after she gone to bed unless it's on a weekend.

I don't think she takes you as granted, if she did she wouldn't bother asking for your time. But if you don't have the time, then yes the relationship is something you shouldn't be in.
