I have a question, as do many of my friends. Maybe you can shed some light (see what I did there?) on it. If we kill Crota's soul during 'The Wakening' how is it that he is alive and well during the raid? My personal theory is that by killing his soul it prevented him from moving off the moon and invading earth and that his soul was only one 'piece' of him, then we do the raid and finish off his physical form / the rest of him. If that's not the case, then that seems to be a gaping hole in the story?
