The problem is that Bungie forgot to update the nightfall loot tables upon release of the expansion. If I recieved "radiant" energy or shards from the nightfall it wouldn't be a problem. Sort of a noob mistake Bungie.

I have never heard that before and I wouldn't be dissappointed to get a mix of both shards..mainly because there is still alot of people that dont have New Raid Armor

Sure, but when the nightfall was updated to level 30, there should have been an updated loot table. We used to be able to upgrade our VoG gear with shards from the nightfall. So we should be able to upgrade Crota gear with shards from the nightfall. Oh wait, Bungie can't allow us to upgrade our gear easier. ;)
