Thanks! While I understand what you mean by not wanting a plot that we can predict, I will say that I haven't really predicted anything. I'm pointing to a lolhuge story in European mythology. Many contemporary works of fiction borrow from classical stuff, although incredibly loosely. I'm not too concerned about a story getting pigeonholed in for the sake of a few swords, considering how vast Charlemagne's history is. There's a lot of room for creativity. And I wouldn't say that Halo and Marathon followed the Song of Roland to the letter at all. Obviously, I have a bias. As much fun as it is to look into a storytelling tradition between franchises, I would hate to think that Bungie was somehow trying to pingeonhole a story or themes into a game just to continue a legacy. The fact that this new IP is a brand-new start is really exciting in my opinion. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if something like this showed up in a minor way or even as an easter egg.
