that's true, arbiter was charlemagne. he killed off many of the humans, and wielded a sword. Destiny may not even be related to charlemagne and his sword. You can have characters in a game that personify a character from another IP. Take for instance, how the Chief (Ogier) agreed to team up with the Arbiter (Charlemagne). There was no cross-ip leaping needing. All Bungie had to do was make a character that reflected someone in Ogier's life.
