I'm going to be as blunt as possible, so as to offend as many people as I can: if you don't know how to -blam!-ing do a raid, -blam!-ing say so. Don't -blam!-ing say nothing and act all surprised when things get -blam!-ed because you didn't know what you were doing and caused a wipe. Or two. Or three. Or -blam!-ing fifteen. Above all else, don't pitch a -blam!-ing fit and leave when your complete lack of communication, combined with your lack of personal experience, leads to a 15-minute encounter turning into an hour-long war of -blam!-ing attrition.
Getting overwhelmed at your position? Say something.
Don't know how to deal with a particular boss mechanic? Say something.
First time raider? -blam!-ing say something.
Your teammates won't look down on you for your lack of experience (unless they're assholes, or you lied and said you knew the raid like the back of your hand). They will look down on you if you become a liability, and if you don't take every opportunity you have to keep yourself from becoming one. Step it up, Guardians.
