Still to this day not understand as to why there are no "Faction Marks".
If your character wears the class item for a particular Faction, you earn rep with that Faction regardless if you are doing PvP or PvE. So why have the Faction Vendors only accept Crucible Marks, and not Vanguard Marks as well? Why even have players earn Faction rep in PvE with the class items if the vendors only accept Crucible Marks? Why not convert the Vanguard/Crucible Marks to "Faction Marks", the same way the rep is converted from Vanguard/Crucible to Faction when using the class items? Who gains what out of this set up?

Pve players get exclusive gear, pvp players get some as well. The goal of devs is to get players to play all aspects of the game. Same rewards for pvp and pve would be boring.

Right. So I again ask WHY have PvE players earn rep with Faction Vendors if they cannot purchase gear? Its a complete contradiction in of itself.

You choose to earn rep by wearing the class item. Its not forced.
