For those skeptics out there, and for all of the theories that something must be remaining that you have to do since the timer just sits at zero - I have news for you: That theory is bunk. My clan beat the raid on hard mode and, for some unknown reason (we don't recall doing anything different than what we always do), a while after beating Atheon and the timer sitting at zero, all of the sudden the game ended and we were taken to an end of game stats screen. No one received any additional end of game rewards or rolls in addition to those received when defeating Atheon. Our only option was to go to orbit thereafter. We had players alive still (we were doing some exploring as always after Atheon) - so it wasn't a wipe issue. Ask away if you have questions. Happy to answer what I can. I'm not saying that other theories are wrong - I love reading about them and ideas players are trying to find new things, more chests or anything else interesting.
