This sounds identical to what we in the Battlefield community call " head glitching " and they just took it completely out of the game haha..

Head glitching? How would something like this be a glitch, when it seems like a fully intended gameplay feature? Seems like a hell of a glitch if that's the case!

I can't speak for the Devs of Bungie.. but in BF it completely removes you from being able to take damage of any kind but still ADS with a full field of view. It was NOT an intended benefit of cover in that game..

You definitely can still take damage, and it's usually headshot damage as well.

Who knows.. so much goes into making these games certain things could get overlooked or have side effects due to interaction with others.. Destiny is pretty solid in this regard. Its pretty solid in every regard.
