I do not know if we watched the same video. But I will agree on the skill part, it would be nice to have gear and weapon advantages as well. Just to try it out.

Guess not, I saw it on the forums. It was a group of 3 guys (2 on 1 team, 1 on the other) repeatedly running to the same area and testing the damage of their guns on eachother.
