Well when you have to get 25 strikes out of the way, you tend to rush through them. Also it waaaaay faster to run through, so I don't see what you mean by it taking longer. Enemies drop agro after chasing for a small amount of time. Case in point: The Summoning Pits (Phogoth) can be done in 8 minutes if you run right through. 15 - 20 minutes if you kill everything.
