Do the vault of glass to farm shards with 2 of your characters

Dam stupid system way too much grinding to up grade if this game was inspired by borderlands as they say then learn a lesson from it and make it much less of a grind I'm level 30 26 @ 25 and getting very bored with doing the same old stuff just upgrade gear its not fun or inspiring to grind all day, I would have thought that was pretty obvious to any game designer? Or not in this case 😬

Download the app called destiny public events. When you are running missions or bounties just check it and see if any events are nearby and coming up soon. I do about 5 public events a day and have a couple hundred spare ascendent materials in the vault. Btw they almost always show up 2-5 minutes after the timer hits 0.

Desperate measures - take your level 3 Titaness to the Divide and let her join the public event when it happens there. Once is is done at gold level, then go to the postmaster, pick up the thing you get (shard, energy etc) take it to your vault, drop it in and then kill her. Then create another character, run her through the start up sections - take her to the divide public events, get the postmaster package, drop it off in vault and repeat endlessly. This method usually gets shards more than anything else - I did it for 18 shards once, but its rather unpleasant and if nobody is in the divide to help you then no gold event. But if you are fast then you can work it so to get three Divide visits every hour (potentially 3 shards an hour). Alternatively just get in to the habit of taking all three characters to a public event EVERY day and once you have a gold reward then collect the postmaster package. Over 3 characters thats 21 packages a week and probably 10-15 shards depending on RNG. Plus a coin or two and ascendant energies. And buy legendary gear to break down for shards.

Buy gear from your faction and break it down quick and easy and a great use of vanguard and curciable marks

I need like 52 to upgrade my gear, i've only have one. This game will took me 10 years to upgrade all my gear. I guess Bungie will add a new light level cap each year, in 2015 we can reach Level 40, 2016 level 50 and so on. Save your shards :)

I wish I could trade I got 19 and don't need them

Best bet is daily story and engrams.
