Finally got my Vanguard to level 4 and went to the tower to check out which weapon I would receive...low and behold the Vanguard was not pleased with me. Instead of getting a weapon, I received 1x Ascendant Shard and 1x Energy...for 2500 Rep. All that time I spent into getting rep just to get the worst reward so far in my Destiny experience. Am I butthurt? You betcha. Am I undeserving of phat loots? Nah, I put effort into it so gimme guns. Gonna take a break though until they figure out this reward system of theirs, which is by far one of the worst I've experienced in years of gaming. May the RNGods be with you fellow Guardians! Let me know when there's more than 10 strikes and 4 raids and I may consider coming back.
